“Romance At Its Best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

This review is overdue. I never officially give reviews for things like this but my experience was so amazing that I had to leave my comments.

First off, this trip was for an engagement proposal to my girlfriend that went off without a hitch. I would like to thank Kaitlyn MacDonald first and foremost for organizing all of the details for the weekend. There wasn't anything to stress over as her and the rest of the hotel staff took care of everything. This allowed me to enjoy every moment.

The Riverview Suite was very nice and was set up wonderfully when we arrived. Freshly baked cookies, truffles and personalized stationary made us feel very welcomed. Prearranged roses for the girlfriend along with nice classical music playing when we arrived also made the room very inviting.

The European breakfast was great! It's nice to have something a little different and upscale than your typical bacon and eggs. Even though I love my bacon, I was happy to swap it out for some fresh items as well as some smoked salmon.

During the day I proposed to her down near the lake and she was just overwhelmed! Phhew, she said yes!

We got ready for an early dinner and decided to try the wine and cheese tasting in the lobby which was delightful. We both thoroughly enjoyed it.

A horse and carriage took us over to a sister property for dinner (The Charles Inn) which was organized by Kaitlyn. It was a nice ride and thoroughly informative. Though currently living in Toronto, I grew up in Niagara Falls and didn't know half of the history that was told to us by the driver.

The Charles Inn was amazing. The food was thoroughly enjoyed and we would definitely recommend it as an option for a nice dinner. We would definitely go there again.

When we returned to the hotel, there was champagne on ice with glasses sitting on the table in the main room. Rose petals and lit candles were placed throughout the entire suite. It was amazing and the now engaged lady was even more thrilled. It was just a great setting for the end to a lovely day/evening.

We managed to sleep in the next day and missed breakfast. The staff was kind enough to put together a breakfast tray for us which was extremely appreciated.

Overall we had a great weekend and will definitely be coming back for an anniversary or even just a small getaway. The Harbour House feels very homey with it's elegantly classic feel.

We had a very romantic weekend and we couldn't have hoped for anything more.

My wife and I just completed our second visit in the past year to Harbour House in Niagara-on-the-Lake. In a word, our stay was "fantastic". The rooms are immaculate and well appointed! The staff are friendly and attentive. The breakfast was really great!

From the first impression at check-in (organized, efficient, timely) to the first impression of the room (music on, thoughtful reminders in the room, etc.), to the great breakfast, we cannot say more about the experience.

We did a deal which included supper at Zees restaurant easily our favorite eatery in town and a short walk away from the hotel (they will take you there by van if you are so inclined).

This place is luxury with a smile and without an attitude! We will be back; probably later this year.

The Harbour House is a charming small hotel. The service was outgoing and friendly yet entirely professional. The public rooms are lovely. Our room was tastefully and comfortably furnished, very clean and had a fireplace. The included breakfast was excellent and plentiful. We have stayed in many boutique inns and small hotels and the Harbour House is absolutely at the top of the list. They even provide a shuttle van to and from restaurants. We thank all the staff for making our special anniversary even more so!

At the Harbour House, nothing is left to chance. The rooms are impeccable and very well appointed. The staff could not be friendlier or more accomodating. The hotel itself is charming, the location ideal. The breakfast that is included is excellent - home made granola, fresh scones etc. This is one of the nicest hotel stays ever!

This hotel has both the benefits of a small hotel and that of a B and B. The staff knows you and is very friendly and helpful. On a rainy day, their free shuttle van will take you to the theatre and back, then later take you to a restaurant and return for you. Their non-smoking hotel is very clean and the free breakfast is wonderful too. The free wine and cheese in the late
afternoon is welcome too. Not having to pay for parking is a bonus too. Our room had a fireplace which on a cold, rainy day warmed our room nicely. The staff made great dinner arrangements for us too. We would definitely return to this spot.

We recently went to Harbour House Hotel and I can't say enough about the ambience, caring staff, complimentary yummy breakfasts, afternoon tea, wine & cheese. It's just a low key"classy" boutique hotel. We've travelled all over the world and this hotel is one of the outstanding ones.

Room Tip: The room we had had a fireplace which was a nice touch.
