“Not up to par”

King Street Manor B & B

Aug 27, 2007

My girlfriend and I have stayed at few B&B's prior to our stay at King Street.

The owner whom I meet was very nice, however I think is missing a very key point when owning a “Bed & BREAKFAST", and that was the breakfast.

The B& B's we have stayed at prior came with over the top breakfasts that would really hold you over until dinner.

The issue we had with King Street's breakfast was that it was all store bought items. I am not sure if we were spoiled prior, but all the B&B's we stayed at prior had wonderful breakfasts prepared by the owner, not Costco muffins and other store bought pastries. This was very disappointing.

The room was nice but the mattress needs replacing ( Room 2) as there was a good dent in the middle that I think may have been caused by consummating newlyweds. Personally I wanted to make a bigger dent but was worried our next door neighbours may take issue with the noise. (Girlfriend will kill me for this comment)

I can not give this B&B my stamp of approval but I think if the owner deals with the food and tries to a little harder she could start to develop more committed repeat clients.

I stayed in room #2 and it was absolutely perfect. The room was beautiful, and the bed was huge and extremely comfy. Everything we needed (incl. an ironing board) was available, and we loved having breakfast within our room. There was a nice selection for breakfast (cereal, fruit, bagels, pound cake, biscotti, tea biscuits, coffee, tea, orange juice, milk, cheese and meat....) and there was enough food to snack on anytime. Kim was the perfect host, we were even surprised to come back from dinner/casino to a snack and rose petals around the jacuzzi! Little extras, like DVD's and candies next to the bed made the stay that much more special. I will definitly come back here anytime we need a little getaway :D

We spent 2 beautiful days at NOTL and this B&B was perfect. We had never stayed at a B&B before and booked this one because of the breakfast within your room. We stayed in Room 1 which contained a king size bed, fireplace, and a kitchenette. The bathroom had a whirlpool tub, but we never turned it on. They provided us with 2-days of plentiful breakfast with pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, quiche, hard-boiled eggs, coffee, orange juice, cookies, and a cheese and ham platter to go with our wine.
Everything was very tasty. It was nice to wake up at our leisure and have breakfast in the room while getting ready.

After sight-seeing all day, they turned the lights down and had Mozart playing on the CD player. There was also a DVD player in the room and movies to choose from. They supply menus from local restaurants which was very helpful as we had never been to the area before.

The guest book in the room had entries from 2003 and we enjoyed reading the positive comments others have left. We added ours as well. I thought it was a nice touch.

Location: It was within walking distance to the main street attractions, though we only walked once. The B&B is in a quiet neighborhood and we enjoyed glasses of wine underneath the beautiful tree out front.

We would definitely recommend this B&B, unfortunately, the owners are selling it. I hope the next owners do just as good of a job and keep the breakfast option the same.

We look forward to future trips to NOTL, in part, because of this positive first experience.

“Awesome Place!!”

King Street Manor B & B

Jan 4, 2007

My boyfriend and I stayed at King Street Manor for New Year's Eve December 31st, 2006. When we arrived, we were a little skeptical because we had never stayed at a B&B before. This place is a little deceiving. It is situated in an area surrounded by beautiful, large homes. This one being not so grand, we were a little unsure, but once we stepped inside,...it was better than we expected. When we arrived, the hosts were not available, but they left us a note and the door was open for us. We stayed in the 1st room. It had a kitchenette (not small by any means) it had EVERYTHING. And I mean everything. There is not one thing that these hosts didn't think of. Right down to matches for the candles in the room and the corkskrew for our wine. The hosts left things like home-made cookies on the bedside table and truffles on our kitchen table. The kitchenette was stocked with things like coffee, tea, hot chocolate etc. And one thing that was really great was that they provided the breakfast for you already prepared in the fridge. You don't have to wake up at a certain time and worry about missing breakfast, because it's already in your room waiting for you!! We had fresh fruit, bagels, croissants, pastries, yogurt, boiled eggs, cheese platter orange juice and more. It was wonderful.
The room was perfect. A gorgeous, huge gas fireplace kept us warm. Beautiful decor, jacuzzi tub and king size bed were everything we needed. The room was new and the bathroom was very clean and renovated. We really had no complaints at all.
After staying at this B&B, we were truly spoiled. I don't think I could ever stay at another hotel room again!!!
Bottom line, if you're in the Niagara-on-the-lake area and need accommodations, don't lower your standards and stay at a hotel, you definately won't get the same treatment as you would at a B&B, it's so much more personal.

King Street Manor was well worth the $$!! I would definately recommend it.

“Lovely BnB in a lovely area”

King Street Manor B & B

My fiance and I stayed at this BnB in late September 06 for 3 days. This BnB is in a lovely area of Niagara on the Lakes and the BnB matches the area.

The room we stayed in was the large room with the Spa bath and ensuite bathroom. The room was very large and comfortable and the bed was probably the biggest we have ever slept on!!.....
The rooms are kept to a high standard and the rose petals in the bath was also a lovely idea.

The idea of breakfast being provided to you is also good if your wanting a quick get a way in the morning.

The only issue we had with the BnB was the walls being paper thin between the rooms. We unfortunately had some lound guests on either side of our room and could hear then quite clearly throughout the night till about 1am sitting talking and drinking. This was no fault of the BnB however but it may be something to take into consideration.
