“Unique, boutique, outstanding service and facility”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2014

I read all the amazing reviews while planning a short vacation in NOTL. This place didn't disappoint. From the highly personalized service (they created a spa package and upgraded our room to a studio suite because we were staying for three nights), to the friendly greeting on arrival, to the ice service every night, staff are among the friendliest and efficient we have met. The generous suite was well appointed, with very high end finishes and touches (a fireplace, great kitchenette, comfy robes, l'occitane toiletries). The rooms are spread amongst several buildings which makes each room unique and very private - a concept that probably came out of necessity, but is highly effective. Amongst the hotel facilities are some great business including Treadwells (an outstanding field to table concept restaurant), a coffee shop, and an amazing spa. We will definitely be returning to 124Q the next time we vacation in the Niagara region - good bye Niagara Falls mega hotels.

Room Tip: Spring for the studio suite or bigger if you budget allows....big, generous, modern spaces.

Hi “Andres I” thank you so much for your wonderful comments. I am pleased to hear you had an enjoyable stay with us. It sounds like you were able to take full advantage of the amenities in the suite as well as, onsite at the Spa @ 124 and dining at Treadwell Farm To Table Cuisine. We stayed here unfortunately only for one night, I would have loved to have stayed longer. The accommodations were absolutely fantastic. We booked a studio suite, which had 2 couches for lounging, tv, fireplace, comfy king bed, nice modern decor, and windows all around the room. The staff was very friendly. I would recommend this "hotel" to any one. Also was a great location, close to everything.

My best friend and I decided to spend a night and day in NOTL....we wish we had made Niagara Falls the day trip and Niagara on the Lake our base...oh well next time, beautiful village and lots to do even though we were a little per season. 124 Queen's office was so helpful booking us a wonderful 1/2 day wine tour before we arrived and putting us into a fabulous suite (501) with a fire place.... so comfortable sofas and bed and a very nicely appointed bath and kitchen. This hotel is the cleanest place I have ever stayed anywhere...including Switzerland which I've always thought was the cleanest! The whole town was clean....great boutiques , wonderful restaurants and specialty bakeries, cheese shop and coffee shops. The staff at the hotel was like family and we even ran into the owner and he drew us a map to a boutique in Tho role we were inquiring about (shannonpassero) Worth the short drive by the way. What a wonderful hotel! We are planning on going back in the fall with some other friends since there is so much to do...did I mention 93 wineries within 5 miles?

Hello “lorriemcf”, thank you for taking the time to post this review. I am happy to hear you had such an enjoyable stay with us and were able to explore the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake and many wineries that surround us. Great to hear you made the short trip to Thorold and found exactly what you were looking for! We do have two bedroom villas that would be perfect for your group of friends in the fall- we look forward to seeing you.

Cheers,

We stayed here over the Easter long weekend and had a great time. Location is great, everyone who works here is friendly and helpful. I really like the fancy coffee/tea machine they have in their lobby. Parking is also included. The only downside was that we had had a creaky bed that made a lot of noise any time we moved. In most higher end hotels, you'd get free breakfast or something if you had an experience like that but we were just told that they would look into it.

My husband and I spent one night at this hotel in a Courtyard Premium room. The room was spacious and immaculate and we appreciated having a sunny balcony to sit and enjoy a drink on. The rooms are located in multiple buildings and the only downside of being in the courtyard building was the deep fried fish smell that came from the restaurant below. No big deal though. We were a bit frustrated to be awoken at 7:30 am by construction in the building, but a call to the front desk solved the problem quickly. When we checked out, we didn't mention the noise, but were pleasantly surprised when the woman at the front desk apologized profusely and offered a room credit, which we greatly appreciated. It's unexpected service gestures such as this that really make the difference. Top notch service all round!

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms are located above the hotel restaurant, and depending on what's on the menu that...

I have stayed here twice and used the spa amenities both times. The staff at 124 Queen are exceptionally professional and accommodating. The Treadwell in the Spring/Summer is beautiful for outdoor dining. I love the firepit area to relax and have a glass of wine. Definitely worth getting a balcony room . I highly recommend staying here.

Located in downtown Niagara on the Lake, our first impressions of the facility were mixed. On Queen St., the main drag of NotL, next door to a supermarket ... not the typical entrance to a hotel of this type. But, we were wrong. Once inside the property, the hotel staff warmly welcomed us. Our room was located on the 2nd floor of the Customs building. Wonderful furnishings, huge bathroom and walk-in shower. No notice of outside traffic at night (NotL is not downtown New York...) . Being based at the centre of the village, we really enjoyed being able to walk around, shop, eat and relax in the room at our leisure. The lady had a massage at the Spa ("One of the best I've ever had"). The hotel staff are pleasant, efficient and truly seem to want to help visitors enjoy the best of their stay. Definitely my pick of places to visit again, should the opportunity arise.

Room Tip: Customs house rooms ("deluxe rate") on second floor are not wheelchair accessible. Don'...

Hello “GarryRobbins” thank you for your kind words and posting your review. I will pass your comments onto the spa as well. It certainly is convenient being steps away from the shopping and restaurants on Queen Street. I am pleased to hear you were able to take advantage of the great location and amenities as well. We hope to welcome you back in the summer- where you will be able to enjoy our rooftop patio!
