Last weekend, we stayed at the lovely bed and breakfast called John's Gate in Niagara on the Lake. The hostess and owner Meheroo was charming and made us feel right at home.
John's Gate is an exceptionally neat and clean bed and breakfast.
Our sunshine yellow and wedgewood blue room featured an extremely comfortable King size bed with Laura Ashley bedding and a larger than usual ensuite.
The beautiful living/dining room was festively decorated for Christmas and it was wonderful to sit in front of the fire while drinking the complementary aromatic coffee as the snow drifted gently outside the windows.
Meheroo has stocked her buffet for the convienence of her guests and coffee, tea and assorted beverages are always available.
We were not sure where to dine the first night there and with Meheroo's help, we were able to decide on the Pillar and Post. She made the reservations for us and we were extremely pleased with the food and the service.
Breakfasts at John's Gate are a gourmet delight. We particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon/ scrambled egg vol-au-vent .
John's Gate is conveniently located and it is a short pleasant walk to the historic downtown area.
Meheroo provided us with coupons to local stores and wineries and suggested places that we might be interested in visiting.
Will we go to John's Gate again? Most certainly, as it was one of the most pleasant and memorable stays that we have had at a bed and breakfast.
