If you're into 1812 history McFarland House is an interesting spot to visit. Its one of the few Pre1812 buildings remaining in the Niagara On The Lake area, so if you're curious about that time period the house tour is worth taking. It 's on the parkway and cycle trail, with plenty of green space around, nice grounds for a picnic. They've also set up a small heritage potager garden, very colorful when I visited. Best of all is the Tea Room which recently under went an expansion, and redecoration. I really enjoyed my afternoon tea, it was delicious. The assorted finger sandwiches, cakes, etc., was a bit too much for one person. Fortunately they let me take the leftovers home! Yum!!
