We visited Peller Estates Winery on October 1, 2011. Upon driving down the long driveway sandwiched between two fields of grapes, you are greeted by a beautiful estate. On entering we were greeted by a host that took the time to explain all the aspects of the estate from the wine tasting area to the restaurant. The wine tasting was very resonably priced as well as the tour, I was amazed at how affordable both were; and you were able to deduct part of the tour price off of your purchse (if you made one). We visited the wine tasting area first and had Juan Nunez-Sanchez as our Wine Consultant. I explained to Juan that I had never liked wine but came along with my sisters because I'd never done a wine tasting before. Juan took the time to explain about the various wines to me, giving me extra samples of late harvest wine and ice wine trying to find a wine I would like. He then took the three of us into the private tasting room to sample other wines. Turns out I really like Ice Wine. He didn't just ask us to taste it, he explained how the flavors of the wine would travel on our tongues, how the glass does make a difference, etc. This was essential information for a new wine drinker such as myself.

After meeting with Juan, we stopped back at the tour desk to see if we were able to get on a tour. It was cold and rainy so lots of folks stopped in for a wine tasting and there was no more room for us. We had been put on a wait list and luckily go onto the tour.

The tour was fantastic as well. Our tour guide explained about the fields, the estate, the process of making wine, how Ice Wine is made, etc. We went into the fields and she explained about the age of the vines, etc. Then it was off to the wine cellar to do a little more tasting.

I cannot recommend Peller Estates Winery tour enough. Juan made our visit very memorable!

We had lunch at Peller last year and decided that we would visit for dinner this year. We were not disapppointed. Beautiful dining room with space between the tables, lovely view, exceptional food (be warned - dessert is not necessary as they offer little amuse bouches along the way, 2 of them sweet enough to be classed dessert). The winery was very busy but the server did the best he could to provide us with some tastings. We will definitely be back next year. For one of the big wineries, they do it right!

Its always so informative and enjoyable. What a great place to spend an afternoon.
