“Planning a conference!”

In late September I conducted a conference for about 70 delegates at the Queen's Landing. The lead up to the conference was great. From the site meeting to the event I was very pleased with the communication I had with the hotel. Peggy was wonderful to deal with during the lead up to and during the conference and Paul made any hiccups go away with ease.

Food at a conference, from meals at the hotel and off site at Stratus Winery(Queen's Landing chef's catered it) were great. Well prepared and very enjoyable. Many of our delegates commented on the quality of each meal. I found the staff to be very accommodating, friendly and pleasant. if you want a wine recommendation, ask Shelly in the Tiara restaurant.

Our room was very nice. We had a room on the second floor and even though it overlooked the parking lot, it was a pleasant view of a park across the street. Not everyone can have a view of the river and we enjoyed our view.

The hotel is a short walking distance from the main street and the theatres and if your driving you have dozens of vineyards to tour and taste.

If you are planning a conference in the Niagara region I would highly recommend Queen's Landing in Niagara-on-the Lake.

We were looking forward to our visit to Queens Landing. We were expecting a historic building and top notch amenities and service. We visited in September and were part of an industry conference. Our room was on the main level and was a standard room. We were pleasantly surprised to find the large bathroom had 2 sinks, a separate shower and jetted tub. The room itself was just like any you would find at a Holiday Inn.

The front desk staff was very pleasant and quick at getting us checked-in. Once in the room we started a regiment of repairs and failures. We had to have maintenance in twice for the safe. It is an older style safe and would not work consistently. On the second day of our stay we had to have maintenance back to repair the bathroom door knob that was falling off…how does housekeeping not notice this and get maintenance to fix it? On day three of our stay we returned from an excursion and the CO detector was going off. We are now on a first name basis with Maintenance! This repair proved a bit more difficult and was not a simple battery change. After the second battery visit they took it away and replaced with a new!

If you are like us and prefer to have your linens changed daily, be prepared to be disappointed.

If you are looking for a restful stay, please make sure there are no events going on at the Hotel. The sound travels freely throughout the Hotel from events in the lower Ballrooms. This does not allow for a restful sleep, especially if you are getting up early for business sessions.

We decided to stop in for a night cap at the onsite pub. It was Friday Night and we arrived just before 11 PM and were immediately issued a “last call” notice. The place was just starting to fill up and they were shutting down???

We were hoping for a nice breakfast at the onsite restaurant. They offer a buffet and a la cart menu. Sadly the menu and the buffet were not allergy friendly. We ended up with fruit from the buffet and a $40 bill.

All in all we were disappointed as we were hoping for something more than what you would get from an Airport Hotel chain and at $300 a night…not cool.

The best part of the stay was the Jet Boat Tour located just down the street. And, we managed to catch a couple musicals at the Shaw Festival Theatre which is within walking distance.

We stayed at this very pleasant hotel during a conference. We found that the staff were very accommodating and helpful. The towels were changed daily even though we did not request that service. We had special group meals for conference attendees; they were quite good. The hotel location worked well for walking to the main street and to the theatres. The turn-down service and daily rose were a real treat. We would be very happy to return for a personal stay.

Our housekeeping department leaves a note in each of our guestrooms giving the option of having fresh towels each day as part of our green initiative. If towles are left on the floor or in the bathtub, they are replaced with fnew towels.

Living in the GTA area I knew about the Vintage hotels but had never stayed but finally got the opportunity. Very nice hotel. Good location made even better by the shuttle service provided by the hotel. This avoids the annoying task of having to find parking in town that you also have to pay for.

The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful.

The posted rate on the back of our door was $500.00 and while the room was very nice and clean with fireplace, etc. it is not worth that amount at any time of the year. We did get a good fall promo rate which was less than half that amount which is still high but Canadian hotel prices are ridiculous almost anywhere you go.

We added on a breakfast package which could be improved. It cost $18.00 each and they really should warm the plates because by the time you hike back to your table the food is cold. The selection is typical of full buffet breakfasts but you are paying for the convenience.

We stayed at Queens Landing for 4 nights after a stay in Toronto. It was just about perfect. The hotel itself is centrally placed to reach the harbour and Main Street. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. The house keeping staff took pride in making sure our room was always clean and the turn down service at night meant there was a beautiful rose left each evening. The food was wonderful and the waiting staff always happy and attentive. We especially enjoyed one of the signature breakfast dishes, eggs Benedict, which was delicious. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful, we will be back!

Queen’s Landing in the town of Niagara on the Lake was chosen as the conference location by and executive committee, but they could not have chosen anything more elegant.

This Vintage Hotel has the look of days gone by but is anything but out of date, the rooms are spacious, modern and luxurious. The front desk staff was most welcoming, the housekeeping staff pleasant and accommodating, but for a special treat try the Tiara Dining Room; most tables were for two and face the waterfront, the wait staff must be highly scrutinized when hired as everyone has impeccable appearances and manners. The menu was exceptional, the presentation of the food fabulous, everything tasted wonderful – and if you are having a birthday – you get to have a tiara placed upon your head.

We had a conference at Queen's Landing Hotel and it was excellent. The service provided by so many (I know I missed alot of names but, Peggy Cernick, Paul and Eugene were excellent!). They were always on hand to provide extra help and service when needed and always happy to do so. They went beyond what was required of them. The friendly and quick service is always a pleasure to deal with. The food was excellent! Will return definitely for a conference!
