“Excellent Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

The front desk staff was exceptional in how they greeted us and helped us with plans and directions. The rooms were a bit small for the price but the bed and bath were quite luxurious. Even had towel warmers in the bathroom. There was always bottled water left in the room and some fruit. Nice touch.

Room Tip: ask for the largest room at the price you are willing to pay

We were so excited to stay at the Prince of whales cause it can highly recommended. Even though it was pricey 1, 200 for 3 days we thought it would be a great place for a second honey moon. We were assured that we would get tbe same service as we would the hotel so we decided to book. So when we got there we were walked across a parking lot to get to our room. The first night we tried to watch a movie and we hardly had any chanels that was disappointing. We woke up the next morning to an earwig in our bed. So we complained as we went for breakfast and they assured us that our room would be the first one to be cleaned so we left for a few hour to walking in to the cleaning person doing our room at 400 pm and we had dinner reservations at 5 that we had to cancel cause we couldn't ever shower to go out . The cottage that we were in also had a permanent residance tbat had barking dogs . I can go on forever with the terrible stay we had . They did adjust the price of the room after two attendants at the desk . They did assure us that the manage "Kelly" would contact us and would probably honor another weekend in the hotel since our honeymoon weekend was ruined. We have called and emailed and never heard back its been a month .I didn't want to resort to this method od complaint but I feel their is no other way to rectify tbe matter.

the service we received at afternoon tea in the drawing room of the prince of wales hotel in Niagara on the lake was in one word, outstanding! we were looked after by two lovely ladies chrissy and Jodi , both were exceptional and went over and beyond the call of duty to ensure we had a pleasant afternoon tea and that we woul;d come back on our next visit. well they succeeded on both counts. the afternoon was fantastic and we will definetly be back thanks to the outstanding service we received from chrissy and Jodi.
cheers ladies and thanks again!

You pay for it, but they take very good care of you. From the moment we pulled up, they took the car and the luggage and from then on we were right downtown in NOL. No hassles. Walked over to a play. They shuttled us to dinner at a winery.
The lobby area is very impressive. The room was very elegant, in a Victorian kind of way.
The pool area is small but not busy. They kept the car and luggage after checkout so we could tour around some more.
The bill on checkout was steep...but they delivered.

We stayed at the Prince of Wales for two nights, and our room was in the annex on the second floor. It was very quiet and the beds were extremely comfortable. The one problem was the room temperature. You cannot control the temperature in the room. It is set to go no lower than 69 degrees. On a hot, humid day the room was very warm and sleeping was difficult with the hot room temperature.

There are no elevators in the annex, and we had to go up and down several flights of stairs to get to our room. We were not offered assistance of a bellman, although I think there is one if you ask. It was a long walk to our room, especially lugging all our luggage up and down the stairs to get there. If you are physically challenged, stay in the main hotel.

The hotel did not have a fan available, but said they would check their other hotels to see if they had one available. After about five hours, they called to say they located a fan for us - it turned out to be a space heater! They do get an A for effort.

All the staff were pleasant and professional. The pool was clean and a wonderful way to relax and cool off. Beware: there is a resort fee and tax on the resort fee. Other than the pool there were no "resort" amenities, and the resort tax was not mentioned anywhere or by anyone at booking.

The hotel is in a perfect spot. Across from a beautiful park and in the heart of the town, you can step out of your room and into the beauty of this wonderful historic town. The flowers are amazing. It is worth a trip just for that. .

Stayed for one night using their lovin package. Great value. The entire staff were top notch. Had breakfast in their restaurant which was great...the whole stay was so relaxing...exactly what you want while on vacation. The location is perfect. It was our second time staying at one of their properties and will come back again.

My wife and I stayed at the Prince of Wales for three nights and had a great time. A few days prior to our trip, I arranged with Ryann, a Guest Service Ambassador, to have a bottle of wine and a cheese / fruit plate waiting for us upon our arrival. She was extremely helpful and accommodating. The staff was all very friendly and service was excellent at the hotel restaurant and pub. The rooms were expensive and quite small; however, the Victorian era atmosphere of the hotel really transported us back in time and had a magical feel. It was a great change of pace from other hotels. The grounds (and the entire town) were beautiful. There was a complimentary wine and cheese tasting one of the evenings with one of the local Ontario wineries, which we really enjoyed. Even though the hotel was at full capacity during our entire stay, we hardly even noticed. Finally, the location is perfect. We were walking distance from the Shaw Festival plays, shops, restaurants, and the lake. It was a perfect base camp for a nice, charming, and relaxing weekend.
