“Disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

We were looking for a light dinner so we stopped in to this place for pizza. The atmosphere was nicer than we expected however the pizza and antipasti was average at best. The server was not attentive and was talking to bar patrons and watching tv instead of tending to our table. We ordered the margherita pizza and the bottom was not crisp as you would expect from wood fired pizza and the antipasti was loaded with jarred pickled items loaded with vinegar, not the salami and cheeses that we expected. We will choose another restaurant the next time we visit NOTL.

“Decent food at an affordable price.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Best things were that it was cute, clean, updated & affordable. The food we had ranged from average to slightly above average but for the price & atmosphere can't complain. Service was good & quick but server wasn't particularly friendly and didn't go out of her way. For example we asked her to take a quick photo of us and she remarked that it came out blurry. Rather than take another photo which would have taken another 5 seconds she just handed us back the iphone and went on her way.

The biggest letdown was the pizza. We ordered the margherita pizza and it was not what we expected from a wood fired pizza. Didn't have that crisp crust and it was very heavy with cheese. It wasn't bad just wasn't what we expected.

In general the food was good but a little heavy for what we were looking for. We went to the Epicurean across the street and were much more pleased with that. Next time we'll likely go there and skip Bistro Six-One.

“Nice food variety and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

We had the pork chop which was thick and done perfectly. The mashed potatoes that accompanied it were lumpy and delicious. The crab cake were also good. Our server was very firendly.

“Great Wood Fired Pizza”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

We stopped into Bistro Six One one rainy afternoon in Niagara on the Lake for a light lunch and enjoyed it very much. We had a pepperoni wood fired pizza and two ales. The pizza was delicious, and was a good value for an expensive town.

Our waitress was friendly and we enjoyed chatting with her; she took very good care of us.

When we go back to Niagara, I would definitely try this bistro again for dinner. There were several french onion soups coming out to other guests that looked delicious!

“Dinner in Niagara on the lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

Wonderful servers...especially Chris. Food was very good, not a noisy restaurant, which was nice. Server Chris helped to make our evening great by being very attentive. Would go back again for sure!!
