“Couldn't be better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

The location is perfect--just a block or two to everything. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean, and the linens and amenities are very nice. There's a coffee-maker for early morning coffee. But you can find that in a lot of places. Carlotta and Kash make the difference. These are the loveliest people you'll ever meet, and they are truly concerned that everything is just perfect for you, including the astonishing breakfasts. We were there for a program at the Shaw Festival which started at 9:30 each morning. Breakfast at Carlotta's starts any time you wish from 8:30 until 10:00, but that wouldn't have allowed enough time! Carlotta started our breakfasts at 8:15, but we barely made our program each of the three days. Fresh fruit (with yogurt if you wish) to start, plus fresh juice. Coffee or cappucino. Fresh bread with butter and jams. Crostini (three different kinds). Then an egg dish (different each morning) and finally dessert (gelato from their shop with the Yellow awning). This is not breakfast, it's a gourmet Italian brunch which will feed you for the whole day. Wonderful and delicious. We were especially lucky as Carlott's very perky mother (age 87) is in town for an extended visit. She's got an English tutor and is simply delightful as she uses her new language to communicate with you. Very highly recommended.

La Toscana di Carlotta is perfectly located, easy walking distance to theaters, shops, and restaurants, but in a quiet area. And we were perfectly hosted by Carlotta and Kash, who are friendly and knowledgeable on many subjects, including how to prepare delicious 5-course breakfasts. Our room and ensuite were spacious, compared with many B&B accommodations, and very comfortable. The whole house just feels good --we hated to leave, and look forward to visiting again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Medici Room and loved it. We peeked into the other upstairs rooms, and they were a...

…. they are absolutely accurate! La Toscana Di Carlotta is everything that the previous reviewers have reported and even more. From the moment that you check-in with Carlotta, Kash and Maya (their delightful Golden-doodle) you are treated to "ultimate” hospitality! We had the unique opportunity to stay in 2 of the lovely rooms, with 2 nights in Botticelli and 1 night in Medici. Each suite was charming in its own right with well-appointed décor and equally comfortable beds. Botticelli, the larger suite, is on the main floor and includes an antique bed, a fireplace, a claw foot soaking tub and separate, huge, rain-shower. This room exudes charm with its own outdoor seating area opening into the beautiful, inviting garden … just gorgeous! The smaller Medici suite is equally comfortable with a view to the back garden and loads of light. As wonderful as the accommodations are the food is equally exceptional, from the custom blended juices, through the home-made crostini, the scrumptious frittatas, and the incredible “dessert of the day”, rounded out by delectable Cappuccino! Take the time to visit Toscana’s pictures on their website; unbelievably, the food tastes as good as it looks! Carlotta and Kash are superb hosts and make every effort to accommodate their guests. This is a perfect location for walking to the theaters or visiting the shops and restaurants in the center of town. If you are looking for a Tuscan getaway in North America, look no further!

If you have not experienced this perfect home away from home then we urge you to do so.
You will find a most welcome sanctuary, absolutely oozing veracity and tradition. Carlotta is rightly proud of her Tuscan heritage and you will feel as if you truly are in Florence. The rooms are decorated tastefully and traditionally, quiet, well appointed and comfortable.

Location is a real positive - close to the main street but somehow quiet and cosy.

A most delicious breakfast will greet you at a very civilized hour (Carlotta serves us at 10 am!) with fresh juice and espresso. Mama may have baked some biscuits and Kash will keep you company with his worldly insights and stories.

You won't want to leave this island of perfection - but do as we do: find any excuse to visit NOTL and our dear 'family' at La Toscana di Carlotta.

If you have visited then you are already a regular, and we'll see you there as often as we can.

Room Tip: If you like a fireplace we recommend the Botticelli room. My wife loves the balcony outside the da...

This is the fourth time we have stayed at Toscana di Carlotta in Niagara in the Lake and this time we came with two friends. The B & B is so comfortable and comforting. We stayed in our favorite room (The Medici; our friends were in the Divinci) We all loved our time there, and hated to leave. The breakfast/brunch is beyond belief! And authentically Italian as well. It is unusual not to be sitting at the table for less than two hours and loving every minute of it. This time one meal ended with a sample from Carlotta's (our hostess') new FABULOUS endeavor...Il gelato Di Carlotta or subtitled UNBEARABLE SWEETNESS FROM THE HEART OF ITALY! We have visited Florence eight times in the past year and this gelato is absolutely IT! Look for my review. In the meantime, make your reservations at Toscana di Carlotta, we have already done so for Sept. 2014.

Room Tip: While the Medici is quite small, the bathroom is large with a splendid walk-in shower. The room is...

When things start being perfect you wonder when they will be less so...and you get (rightfully) astounded when they remain PERFECT! Every aspect of this wonderful B&B is wonderful, starting with the hosts, on through the gorgeous rooms, the high-end coffee machine and pods, the fabulous soaps etc. And then Breakfast! A four-course feast that you might find in a 5-star restaurant! Yes, we will be going back!

Room Tip: We had the ground-floor suite with a 17th century bed -- one of the most comfortable we slept in; an...

We had a very charming lady from Florence welcomed us when we arrived. The stay was comfortable, and relaxing. The breakfast was AMAZING!!! At the breakfast, we had a nice conversation with people who were staying at the time. We definitely want to visit again :)
