“excellent stay at the falls!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2009

We drove to Niagara Falls from our home in Albany, New York. We arrived on Friday and stayed through Monday. No problem at all getting through the border into Canada. We arrived in the late afternoon and were quickly checked in by a very courtious and friendly yound man. We had reserved online and were given a 7th floor room as requested. The room had a very nice view of surroundings with a slight view of the horseshoe falls( a bigger view at the end of the hall). We got a AAA rate which saved some $. The desk staff was very friendly, helpful and relaxed. They did not give us any hard sell or try to push any attraction. We asked about Antica Pizza (hightly reccomended by me!!) the first night and the man googled it to get us directions. We also asked about ice cream and he was honest about not having tryed any but he reccomended 2 places that other quests liked ( try the gelato place up the road across from the hotel restaurant). We had a standard double bed room which was clean, large, comfortable( one of the best hotel beds I've ever slept in). I saw some dirt on the carpet but it had a very nice foot feel. The shower curtain could be a little bigger but thats a small detail. My kids 10 and 11, LOVED the pool and esp. the hot tub. Our whole family relaxed in the hot tub after walking all day around the falls. The breakfast was plentiful with sausage, eggs, delicious yogurt, sm. pastries, breads for toasting, plenty of coffee, cereal etc.. I reccomend eating early 7:00 or late 10:00 if you want to be sure to get a table. Otherwise you can bring food to your room or wait a while. A large group of girl scouts was staying there at the time of our stay and many families with young children. We could hear some noise from other rooms btwn 10:00 and 11:00 pm. but it wasn't excessive and we had no prob. falling asleep. We loved our room but we heard another guest requesting to be moved with no problem at all. Parking is $6 a day fair for this area where all is $$$. Wear comrfortable shoes and you can walk everywhere. We did , including back to the NY side over the wonderful rainbow bridge. My kids loved the view! If you are prepared to walk you can get to the falls quickly. This hotel is close to everything but removed enough from the touristy feel of Clifton Hill. My son need some batteries for his digital camera. The store on the tourist strip was charging $7 for 2 batteries. We asked the desk staff for directions to Walmart in the "real" part of town. We went to a local store Zellers instead and got a large pack of batteries, some nice Canada tee-shirts, Canadian chocolate bars etc. for much less and better quality than in tourist shop. I would recommend this hotel to families for a great trip to the falls!!

We stayed here for one night and it was worth every penny!!
The location was really convenient - we were crossing over to Buffalo the next morning and the bridge was right around the corner!! It was also close to Clifton Hill and is across the street from Casino Niagara.
It was very clean, the staff were friendly and the free breakfast was very good.
The parking is $6 per night and there is a lot of parking spaces available.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will keep it in mind for my next trip to the falls.

If you are looking for a basic hotel that is family friendly and conveniently located, this is the place for you. The staff is polite and efficient. The rooms are basic and not very well soundproofed (one can hear the doors opening and closing, conversations from the hallway, and sounds from the next room), the sofabed is back breaking, and the pillows are so soft that it is as if you are sleeping without one. The complimentary breakfast is decent and the complimentary cookies and coffee in the reception are a nice treat.

Plenty of parking, nice lobby, friendly staff. We stayed on the first floor which was about a 20 second walk down the stairs to the lobby. The rooms were adequate and clean. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub. The breakfast was great, but you have to get there early to get a table. People were very courteous and gave up their table immediately after eating. Other reviews said the hotel was within walking distance to the falls, looking at the maps before we left, it looked like a long walk but it really wasn’t. It was about ten minutes to walk to Maid of the Mist and people mover (don’t walk down Clifton Hill if you are in a hurry, very crowded sidewalks). We walked everywhere which was probably faster than driving with all the traffic. There is a convenient store and ice cream place about 50 yards down the street, also a Perkins restaurant across the street.

We stayed here in August based on the reviews from tripadvisor. The hotel was nice and was very close to Clifton Hill and some restaurants but that's about it. You have to walk through the Clifton Hill craziness to get to the falls, which can add time to the walk depending how crowded it is. The rooms were fine with two queens that were very comfy. The bathroom was spacious. The breakfast was pretty terrible. The muffins were hard, the egg pattys were weird, so we stuck with bagels and cereal choices. If you are going to use the pool, bring goggles. My kids eyes were bruning after 30 minutes. The price was perfect compared to the other hotels, so we would probably stay here again.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2009

We stayed here for 3 nights August 13-16th. I chose the hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews. I don't understand why people are so excited about an average hotel.

Front desk: People could not have been nicer or more helpful.

Rooms: Ours was standard queen room. Carpet was dirty in spots, bed was a little soft. AC was okay. Bathroom was usual hotel standard with poor spray action. Very small TV but great selection of cable channels probably the best of any hotel we've stayed in. But I wasn't there to watch TV.

Breakfast: It was okay, nothing exciting. Didn't care for egg patties but loved the Aero brand yogurt. Would be nice if they could vary the pastries a little.

Location: You definitely need to buy Adventure Pass to use the People Mover. It's not too far to Maid of Mist but to get to main area of Falls is a far walk, especially if it's hot. You also get unlimited use of incline railway to get to Fallsview Casino.

I wasn't aware that tax in Canada is 13% so my trip cost more than I anticipated. I booked through hotel Web Site & I knew there'd be tax but I think they should tell you exact amount. Also, most credit card companies charge you to convert your charges to US dollars. We paid cash for meals, etc.

It's an okay hotel but I would probably stay closer to Falls next time. I really don't understand the rave reviews. i was disappointed.

This hotel is located within easy walking distance of the Falls, the Niagara Casino and Clifton Hill amusements, but far enough away to get a quiet night's sleep. Parking is $6 per day, which is less expensive than other hotels in the area. Rooms are extremely clean, and staff is courteous and friendly. Remember, this hotel is at the top of the hill, so when walking back from the Falls and other amusements, break up your walk by having some fun on Clifton Hill.
