“Little gem in Niagara”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for the second time while passing through the Niagara Falls area. Once again this hotel did not disappoint. Super spacious rooms with jet stream showers and free breakfast in bed...what's not to love...2 minute walk from all the restaurants and attractions . A little further from the falls but never a problem for us we love to walk..if we are ever back in the area this will be our first and only choice.

We were browsing through tons of overpriced, big box hotels for our recent trip to Niagara, ON when we somehow (and luckily!) came across Sterling. As a frequent traveler, I am hard pressed to say that I've ever enjoyed my stay as much as I did here. The staff is incredible, namely Stephanie, who goes out of her way to make your trip as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. She was completely accessible for questions or recommendations, and always with a smile on her face. The room itself is decorated beautifully in shades of dark wood and muted colors. It was very spacious for us and the accommodations were perfect. For less than half the cost of these other hotels where you can dare to dream to receive a falls view, I recommend staying here and taking the five minute walk to the falls. It was worth every cent and every step!

The Sterling Inn & Spa exceeded our expectations for celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary. On arrival we were upgraded to a deluxe room with steam shower. When we entered the room, the place was impressively large, with a separate closet for our luggage. The windows were covered with dark wooden shades that afforded ultra-privacy and nighttime darkness. The beds were extraordinarily comfortable and included a bench at the foot. This was the first time we had experienced a steam shower. The room was "new-room clean." Special thanks are due to the hotel employee at the front desk who volunteered to take our picture in several places around the hotel, indoors and outdoors. This place was 'dead quiet' at night--the rooms were apparently soundproofed. We could walk around the neighborhood even close to midnight and still feel perfectly safe. The breakfast in the room was well-executed and promptly delivered. But the best thing about this place was the AG Restaurant attached to the hotel. We had a lovely dinner with superior service and "the best of Ontario" cuisine. A customer saw us celebrating our anniversary, walked over to our table and volunteered to take our picture together. We left the restaurant raving about what a wonderful time we had. One more bright spot in this evening--there were no kids in this hotel. Want a romantic stay in Niagara Falls, Ontario? This place is absolutely "perfect" in our opinion.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the left side (of the front entrance) of the hotel...It is away from the bright li...

First thing I have to say is this place is beyond gorgeous. I have stayed regularly at a king jacuzzi suite at the fallsview casino resort, the room was more than double the price of the traditional room here and i can say i'd take this over fallsview ANY DAY! Jacuzzi is so spacious and deep. Shower has rainfall head and wall blaster things. They claimed the room we booked had airconditioning problems so they gave us $50 off the room price! When we stepped in the room it was freezing and wonderfully air onditionednwith a seperate additional ac unit they prepared for us! I have no idea why anyone would stay anywhere else. This looks like the model suit of a downtown toronto tridel condo. This place has like sky high ceilings, floor to cieling curtains and shutters, modern appliances, leather ottoman and more! Oh the jacuzzi is to die for. Super spacious enough for two easily. Ps: whoever gave this place any less than 4 stars is just CRAZY and must be an employee of some competitor because this place, i promise, will blow your mind.

This hotel is near it all! Received a free upgrade to a suite! Great value. Pkg included dinner at AG which was terrific! Stayed Marriott 6740 Victoria ave and it was sooo disappointing compared to this hotel. Free Parking was a treat too

We stayed at this hotel and spa during a short weekend trip to see the falls. Knowing there would be no view of the falls I picked this place for the room design/style/decor. Upon arrival the neighborhood did not seem all that great and the exterior of the building is plain. However, the entry to the hotel and the rooms were very well appointed. We liked the steam shower, bed (firm), and furniture etc. room was complete with a safe, microwave, and refrigerator as well. The second floor rooms had a balcony which was nice too. We utilized both the spa and restaurant. I would say the restaurant was nice but overrated and the spa was good.

The downsides were: the area looks like a lower class neighborhood, the wifi did not work our entire first day/night, the rose petal package was fake roses (so skip that option), and our bathroom door would not latch properly. Overall it was a decent experience but the price was about 30-40% too high and that would send me down the road to one of the "big box" hotels with the view on my next trip.
