“Romantic & Relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2012

I really enjoyed staying at the Sterling Inn & Spa! If you're looking for a romantic and relaxing place to stay this is the hotel for you. They have wonderful staff who helped us with our room, I really recommend one of the rooms with a jacuzzi. They also serve a delicious and healthy breakfast in the morning delivered personally to your room! It was wonderful, because not only is breakfast included in a hotel stay hard to find, but they bring it to you. It really made our trip.
Thank you!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the jacuzzi hot tub! It's very relaxing & they provide you with robes.

We stayed two nights at the Sterling Inn and Spa recently. The outside is rather strange, but the inside is beautiful. The rooms are spacious, and the showers are amazing. The breakfast brought to our room each morning was good and more than enough food. I am vegetarian, and my friend is not, and the breakfast had food to suit each of us. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel is far enough away from the main tourist attractions to be quiet, but it is close enough that it was an easy walk to the attractions and the Falls. I would recommend it.

We came here on a groupon and was a little skeptical. It seems like its in a bad neighborhood but its not. It is just that there are business that are closed and buildings that are being torn down. But wow what a beautiful hotel. The room was modern and relaxing. I really enjoyed the steam shower and the bathroom was beautiful. The bed was a little hard for me but my partner really liked the bed. It's a matter of preference.

Overall everything was really nice and it's close to the Falls. You can walk there. One of the best parts of the hotel free parking since we drove there. Dinner was excellent. We went to the wineries and that was nice also.

We plan on going again as a couple. I don't really see it as a family type hotel. I recommend this more for a couple. We went in March during off season so it was quiet and very few tourists. It was chilly but we are from Chicago so we just bundled up.

Groupon deal for $250, went Friday and Saturday night. The room is pretty funky. We had the steam shower and like others reported, there was mold. The obvious reason for this is that the glass panel above the door is supposed to tilt open to allow steam to escape when you are done,
The glass pane is fixed shut, so the steam cannot escape and thus, mold will form. The floor boards were also separating. The bed had this ledge around the mattress that my wife and I banged our shins into in the middle of the night.

The safe did not work and we asked for it to be fixed the first day. It wasn't. We asked the next day and were left a note saying the safe is broken, Housekeeping did not refill a Kleenex box after 1st night. There was signs of dust everywhere.

Someone posted that its 20 minute drive from the falls. We walked there in 15 minutes with lots of stops along the way. Its about 2 blocks from Clifton Hill.

We used the casino voucher, it was split up as 2 $25 players cards, and when u finish the $25, it added another $10 onto the cards.

As there is no expiry date on the winery tastings, we will use them another day, as the wineries were closed Good Friday and Easter Sunday,

We used the $50 coupon at AG, the restaurant is top notch, the food, presentation and service was excellant. After a the $50 couponm dinner was $215 including a $70 bottle of wine, a $35 tip. We'll be back to AG but I don't know if we'd go to Sterling again.

Stayed at the Sterling Inn for two night using a Groupon. For $195 we got a two night stay during the week, a $50 voucher to the on site resturant, AG Inspired, a $50 voucher to the Seneca Niagara casino and 6 vouchers for wine tastings to six different wineries in the Niagara on the Lake area... About a 20 minute drive from the Falls.
Overall it was a good value. Let's start with the room. It was modern and astethically pleasing. It had a king sized bed a flat screen tv and an over sized shower with side sprayers. Now for the cons. The bed was the hardest most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. There was mold in the shower. The wood flooring looked like it was an after thought and was not layed properly upon installation (see attached picture). The hotel did not have HD programing available. There was a "business center" which consisted of a computer and printer, as well as a fitness center which we did not use. Beware if you use the Groupon u will be charged approx $31 at the end of ur stay for "taxes"

The wine tasting was excellent as was the resturant we ate at (Peller Estates Winery)

We were unable to use the $50 voucher toward the on site resturant as it was closed on Monday's and we had plans for Tuesday night.
The casino voucher was to the casino on the US SIDE. I found that odd since there are two casinos in walking distance of the hotel on the Canada side. On the bright side we turned the $50 voucher into $100 cash at the slots!

Over all I give this hotel 3 stars for overall comfort but the Groupon package was a very good value

This was a great find for a romantic weekend getaway! We fell in love with the place which had beautiful decor and was spotlessly clean. This is supposedly a remodeled diary farm which has been converted into a spa.

Pros:
AG Restaurant : Probably the highlight of our trip. Amazing food and ambiance!
Clean and nice: The decor was amazing and the people were friendly.
Breakfast in bed: Decent stuff served right in your room. We got quiche the first day, but a boiled egg the next.
Jacuzzi: Nice and spacious with a window.

Cons:
Bungled reservation: Our original booking was not taken properly and we had to pay for an upgrade (which ended up being a positive)
HVAC rattle : We stayed in #110 and had vibrations from the HVAC unit like others complained.
No view: If you are looking for a falls view - that is.

Others:
Not in a bad neighborhood as others complained. Stones throw to Clifton Hill and a short walk to Niagara Falls. You can save on parking by just walking to the Falls.

We have just returned from our 5th visit to Sterling Inn and Spa. There is something to be said for the first class room and service. We especially like the breakfast in bed that comes with the deluxe room. For the price you pay it is well worth it.
The hotel itself is in walking distance from all the Niagara attractions. The parking is free, which you don't get at other hotels and the restaurant is out of this world.
Whenever we want a quick getaway with all the luxuries we head to the Sterling Inn.

Room Tip: We have stayed at all different rooms in the hotel. All were good.
