Forget calling the front desk you may as well be screaming into a black hole. I called repeatedly with no answer. My question was simple: are local calls free? Why would this matter? Because if you are from the states your cell coverage is probably "roaming". I gave up on the front desk and made the local call anyway from the room phone. Later after calling the front desk and listening to the never ending ringing I walked down to ask the above question. Turns out they charge a $1.50 per local call.
Parking is $12.50 a day.
The location is ok with a WeGo bus stop nearby.
If I could do it all again I would plan the following:
1 Day/Night on Canada side.
Buy Adventure Pass in Canada (seems like it was cheaper than through AAA in states?)
Use WeGo buses to go to attractions and hit all the majors in one day. Its doable.
Leave Canada and spend another day/night in USA
Kids had way more fun on the American side - Cave of the Winds, island park, tower view ($1), Luna Island, picnics, etc.
The Canadian side is overpriced. Don't get taken for all these ridiculous fees just because you heard the Canadian side is "better". Stay here only as long as necessary for the major attractions and then get back to the USA. Stay at this Wyndam Garden only if you find a really great rate that's too hard to pass up. Really wish I had done more research before booking.
All that being said, HOUSECLEANING WAS FANTASTIC.
I travel A LOT and have never written a review on tripadvisor before. This experience has changed that.
