“Nice way to spend March Break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2009

My two kids (11 and 13) and I spent the last weekend of March break with a friend and her two kids (13 and 15) at this hotel. The location is good as Niagara Falls offers a lot to do, but we never even left the hotel. The waterpark was perfect for all the kids. The "roller coaster" slide was a big hit, even with the adults. There were areas of the waterpark reserved just for adults, and even though it was March break, the park did not feel crowded. We tried the restaurants, which were well-priced for a theme-hotel and the food was pretty good. Our room was a nice size, even for 6 people, and tcontained a microwave and fridge. Nice to have snacks on hand! The staff were very helpful when our wristbands became "waterlogged" and we could not access the room. Some small things that we really appreciated were the bathing suit "dryer" and plastic bags at the entrance to the change rooms, and the complimentary use of lockers following check out. One of the highlights for younger kids (and young-at-heart adults with teenagers who are "too old for that") was the evening storytime. At bedtime, the entire lobby was filled with people in their pjs listening to stories being read by a "camp guide". It was quite nice. For people with kids who love water, this is a great place. The rooms can be expensive, but this is somewhat offset by being able to use the waterpark for almost two entire days with a one night stay, I would recommend it.

We went to GWL in Niagara for my daughters birthdays. I think the food at the restaurant was great. Except, we didn't like to have the same food everyday. The food was expensive. I liked the activities they had. I absolutely loved the wristbands and I liked the waterpark. I hate their towels that they give in the waterpark, it's way too small. The arcade was very fun even my wife and kids really enjoyed. We spent around 27 $ on the tokens. We found lots of free tickets. And the Scoops Kids Spa, was really nice. All the staffs were very friendly.

We have taken the kids all over, and there is no other quite like Great Wolf Lodge. We went on a Monday and stayed until Wednesday, and couldn't have picked a better time to go. There were next to zero line ups, the amusement waterpark was fantastic, the staff were exceptional - especially the cub club staff and those who did the evening story. The buffet was expensive, but decent. The omellette station was a nice touch. I would recommend bringing in some of your own foods and beverages since as with any resort or amusement area most everything is over priced. There is both a microwave and small fridge in rooms to accommodate. The entire hotel and waterpark were fantastically clean. We also liked the idea of the safe in our room, and that our wrist bands worked as door keys to locker keys.

We are already planning our return trip we enjoyed it so much! We're making this a twice a year holiday vacation.

I advise travelers to bring their own snacks, wine and in room breakfast. There is nothing nearby and the hotel restaurant is very over priced and just not all that great.

The kids do quite love this place... It would be nicer for the parents if the quality of products matched the price tag. The staff was very young but tried hard.

We stayed on a Sunday night for a better rate, 2 adults and 4 children. The kids loved everything about the lodge and it was very reassuring to stay in a family hotel environment.... it was very relaxed. Story time was a huge hit. The waterpark was surprisingly clean. We didn't enjoy the lineups for the various rides so go when it's not so busy. The room prices were crazy and the decor very "rustic 80's" but the kids didn't mind. The food at the various restaurants was surprisingly good and not too expensive. We would definitely go again.

Great Wolf Lodge was larger than we had expected. We arrived early since you are allowed into the water park area starting at 1pm on your day of arrival. The front lobby was very large and very full when we arrived. We checked in and got our wristbands for the water park. The wristbands are also your room key and and you can use them to charge food and drinks to your room as well as use them to lock and unlock the free lockers in the water park area. Our room was not ready until amost 4pm which is the posted check in time. When we got our room the floor was quite dirty. There were chip crumbs and plastic wrappers on the floor which I wasn't too impressed with. I talked to the front desk and they made a call and this was quickly cleaned to my satisfaction. The rest of the room and the rest of the facility was clean, I'm not sure what happened with the floor in our room. We had a family suite which was a good size. It had two beds, a pull out sofa, and it was pretty roomy. It was bigger than your average hotel room. The room had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker etc. The rooms were very quiet. We were with another family and all the kids were in the room beside us one evening. I KNOW they were not being quiet, but we couldn't even hear them in the room right beside them.
The waterpark was very nice. It had some good water slides and rides. It had some nice pools and hot tubs. There were two indoor hot tubs (1 adult and 1 familiy) and one outdoor adult hot tub which was very nice. The lines for the slides did get long at times, but weren't bad at all first thing in the morning or in the evening.
The are lots of food options here, but they are pretty pricey. Our morning snack of two bagels, two donuts, two milks, and one coffee was over $18, and a medium pizza at Pizza Hut there was almost $20 too. It's handy but more than you'd pay if you went to a restaurant.
This hotel was a good value for what we paid. I will say we received a significant corporate discount and if we paid the regular rate of $399 / night I wouldn't have been as impressed.
We all had a good time and will definitley be back. I would recommend this to any of my friends or family who are looking for a nice get away.

I booked online for a Saturday night March 1, 2009. The web site is deceiving. I booked a wolf den suite and with taxes it cost $629.00!! From the time we arrived till when we left the next day was a struggle. The place was over packed with people. Line ups for everything including check in. Our room was nothing special. No different than a cheap motel room. The room was an incredible far walk to the main building and water park. We had to wait over an hour to get a table in the dining room. The buffet was not very good and expensive (three kids and two adults $80.00). People are siting all over the lobby on the floor eating due to there not being any seats anywhere to sit. The water park is nice but just try to use it when you can barely move to to the amount of people. There are cheap lawn chairs and tables on the decks with no wait staff, but who cares because good luck in finding a seat! Line ups for water slides very long with lifeguards deliberlately delaying the slides. I have met nicer Carny"s at the CNE than these lifeguards! A wave pool so crowded that you are constanly rubbing up against people. I felt releaved when we left. For that money I could have stayed at a luxury hotel like The Four Seasons with a pool and been waited on hand and foot with a suite that is to die for.
