Stayed in La Dolce Vita suite- excellent. Owners warm and friendly. Walking distance to major Falls attractions.

Room Tip: Dolce Vita suite is best- 2 other rooms are very nice but smaller

The Redwood Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful place to stay in Niagara Falls. Joe and Carmella are excellent hosts and really care about their guests. The breakfasts at the Redwood are outstanding. Joe is truly a gourmet chef... we didn't need to eat again until late in the evening! We only stayed two days but we felt like a part of the family when we left. In fact, I got a bit teary eyed when we said goodbye to Joe! Joe and Carmela are kind and gracious hosts... I highly recommend their bed and breakfast.

My husband and I loved the Redwood. It was the third B&B we stayed at this trip. It was both the nicest and the cheapest. The common areas have gorgeous wood paneling, and the rooms have been decorated with lots of care and beautiful touches. It was immaculately clean. Breakfast was by far the best B&B breakfast I have ever had. When we arrived, the proprietor asked us if we liked certain food, then when breakfast came the next day, we were given individualized made to order wonderfulness. I had peaches with cream, pastries, a shrimp omelet, roasted zucchini, and thick pieces of French toast with Nutella and syrup. My husband had something similar, but since he doesn't like shrimp, his omelet was different.

The Redwood is in a lovely residential neighborhood and is right across the street from the Niagara River. It's about a 10 minute walk to the best view of the American Falls and the main downtown area. It's about a 20 minute walk to the edge of the Canadian falls. We hated downtown Niagara, both on the Canadian and American sides. It's very gimmicky with overpriced mediocre restaurants, haunted houses, etc. The falls, however, are fantastic. We did the Maid in the Mist and the Cave of the Winds. Both were great. The Maid in the Mist has exactly the same tour whether you catch the boat on the American or the Canadian side, but the American side is considerably cheaper. Just beware the fake visitor's center on the American side just over the Rainbow bridge. It's not run by the park district, and they try to pressure you into buying very expensive tours. Parking there, is, however, $5 cheaper than in the main state park lots, and it's only a short walk to the real visitor's center.

We also visited Fort Niagara, about a 20 minute drive from the Falls. It was awesome. If you like early American military history, it was definitely worth it.

I visited Redwood in April with my parents, younger brother and boyfriend. I'm slightly delayed in writing this review mainly because I wanted to have the time to explain what a fantastic stay we had! However, most other reviews have covered everything.
Never have I ever stayed at a B&B where you hug the owners goodbye! And that sums up the trip - Joe and Carmela are such lovely people and made us feel like visitors rather than paying guests. This was our first B&B/hotel out of 4, and was by far our favourite. As others have said, Joe's breakfasts are amazing...kept us going right through to dinner and were delicious.
We had the suite and the Vineyard room and both were very comfortable. We loved having to climb up a step into bed!
Our only problem is that Niagara Falls isn't really the sort of place we'd like to go back to, if we were to go back it would only be to stay at Redwood again!!

We stayed at the Redwood B&B for our annual anniversary trip and we are so glad we selected this place. It felt more like we were staying with our Aunt Carmela and Uncle Joe than at a random B&B found on tripadvisor.com. Our flight into Buffalo was delayed, delayed, cancelled and our new flight was dallied again. We didn't arrive until almost 3 am. We offered to stay at an airport hotel but Carmela insisted on waiting up for us. Once we finally arrived she asked how late we'd like to sleep in after our long day of travel and had breakfast ready available later just for us.

The breakfasts each morning were amazingly food and held us through lunch. Joe and Carmela always seemed available for questions or recommendations. Our room was nice and very comfortable. For the price paid it was a great value. The location is also excellent... With the Falls and downtown area all within walking distance. It also a short ten minute drive to Niagara-on-the-Lake and all of the wineries in between. We'd gladly recommend to anyone.

My husband and I decided to go to Niagara Falls last minute over Memorial Day weekend--it was a great decision. I looked at a LOT of B & B's but finally settled on this one due to the positive reviews and the VERY reasonable room rates. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Carmela and Joe. They are such a sweet and kind couple--they gave us dinner suggestions and offered to help us with our luggage--they really feel like they are your extended family. The B & B was more than we expected--the rooms were gorgeous, quiet, and the breakfast was amazing. I tend to prefer more "buffet" style breakfasts as I don't want to overeat--but their breakfast was served in multiple courses while we sat at the table like royalty--they were VERY filling and extremely delicious. We also "saved" a bit on our trip as I was not hungry for lunch. I'd definitely stay there again--and would recommend this place to everyone.

The Redwood is a well presented fusion of traditional charming décor and modern convenience situated within easy walking distance of all the major Falls attractions. We stayed in a suite on the first floor (the Dolce Vita Room); the suite is comprised of a bedroom and sitting room (both with TVs) and a bathroom plus a generous balcony to enjoy if the weather allows. The decoration and furniture has an old world charm but is very comfortable.

Special mention has to be made about the Host, Joe (unfortunately we didn't meet his wife). Joe makes sure that breakfast at the Redwood is an event and clearly loves to cook for his guests. As an example one breakfast was a fruit plate and a separate plate containing half a fresh peach, an omelette plus a hazlenut-chocolate French toast sandwich, a fruit Danish and as much fruit juice and coffee as you can drink. All this is served by Joe as he chats amiably about a vast variety of topics. Be sure to allocate a full hour for breakfast (from 8:30) which will allow you eat, chat and to hit the attractions as they open.

I have stayed in many establishments that made me feel like a valued customer, but only 1 that made me genuinely feel like a guest. Thank you Joe.
