Stayed two nights; booked this property based on TripAdvisor ranking and reviews.
Here are my observations:
*Yes, friendly hospitality exists; these individuals enjoy their jobs
*Pick-up/drop-off service is helpful, given the location from the Horseshoe Falls
*Room does include microwave and refrigerator
*Free calls do exist, even to the U.S.
*The wifi was some of the best we encountered on our nearly 7000-mile journey
*Our "river view" room consisted of the street directly below and a business close by; the river was "sort of" evident.
*It took us 45-minutes to walk to the Horseshoe Falls; mind you, we are VERY fit, constantly hike, and this was at a quick clip. Part of the "walk" along the Niagara River is without a path, close to a dusty power facility, and boarded up old buildings ~ eek!
*We were cautioned about the sofa bed in our room, and should have listened. A feeble mattress, if you can call it that.
*Non-smoking room did have an odor of smoke to it
*Undergoing remodel when we were there; unfinished projects include unpainted boards around window air conditioning unit in our room. Outdoor balcony facing the street had Christmas lights laying on our outdoor seating.
*No housekeeping service during our stay
All in all, this is a very basic place to stay. I'm uncertain of the glowing reviews, which is what prompted us to stay here. I DEFINITELY wouldn't run out and purchase the mattress I slept on, as a previous reviewer raved ~ that proved laughable to me, and actually caused me to question some of the reviews of this property.
If you're looking for a quiet place to stay that is NOT within walking distance of the Falls, without much (if any) view of ANYTHING, and you can get by on cheerful customer service alone, then choose this property.
