“This Hotel Was an Utter Mess”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

Please be warned. This hotel must have recently come under new management, and it has completely fallen apart.

Check in took us over 1.5 hours. We were assigned a room after a long wait, we went to that room and on the way noted the dirty sheets, towels and coffee makers piled in the corner. We put our key in the door and opened it only to find....another guest's things were all over the room. We quickly closed the door and went to the front desk. They apologized, and gave us a new room. We went up to that room, and guess what? Another guest's things were already in that room too! This is not only incompetent but dangerous. We could have stolen anything we wanted to. They apologized again and offered to upgrade us to a suite if we would wait for it to be cleaned. We agreed. About 10 minutes later, an irate young woman approached the front desk--she was staying in--you guessed it--the suite they were trying to give us! Apparently she had just come out of the shower, completely naked, when a family walked into her room! That means that not only did they try to give us her room, but at the same time they tried to give her room away to another family!

While we were waiting, we realized they had charged our card twice. They wanted to wait till the morning to fix it, but we insisted they refund us right away, as we had not yet seen the falls and only had one night in Niagara. We didn't want to spend all morning at the front desk as well.

As we left our forth room (empty!) I put a note on the door: "People are already in this room, please don't open." Upon returning to our room after seeing the falls we tried both of our hotel keys only to find they no longer worked in the door. Why? Because they had reprogramed the door for someone else!

Other guests had the same thing happen. They had no control over the situation. People who were out all day came back to find their rooms uncleaned. There was a woman who had no electricity in her room, and they told her they would bring her a lamp! The hallways were filthy, even though the rooms looked clean. The sign at the front desk just said "Hotel" the old logo had just been ripped off the sign. The pool was dirty. There is no breakfast and no spa.

Don't stay here. It's unsafe and a complete disaster.

I booked this room because we were returning from Michigan and going home to New York and wanted to have a break from driving and see Niagara Falls region. I can only speak for the room we stayed in, Room 1005. The bathroom door had been punched in by someone and left like that, bathroom sink had big crack in (probably by same person), the tub had at least 10 stay hairs in it (YUC) and that's just the bathroom. Called downstair for a box of tissues (there was an empty tissue holder in bathroom) and was told they don't have tissues. Then I realized there wasn't a coffee maker in room (hotel ammenities said coffee maker in rooms) so I called down for one, no rush. Front desk said she was the ONLY person there and it would be awhile. Before we went to bed (3 hrs. later) my husband went down to get one so we'd have it for the morning. Our view was horrific, we overlooked a rooftop that apparently is used as a "backyard" for the tenants, garbage all over the alley, just not a nice sight to see, so I closed the curtains. Have to say, the beds seemed clean and were comfortable. We couldn't wait to get out of there, I felt like I might catch something. Set alarm for 6 AM and left by 7 AM. I would NOT advise my friends to go here that's for sure. No staff around, it's kinda strange?!

Room Tip: Didn't look at any other rooms so I really don't know. Wouldn't stay in 1005 that's...

Pool dirty and unusable. Valet took car keys home, it took 45 minutes to get car. Valet left ink mark on our seat (and other guest as well). Manager was rude and could care less about the damage to our car. when I called headquarters to complain they simply said the manager at the hotel would call to address out concerns, even though I already had said that manager was disinterested in helping. A week has passed and no call. This was a royal waste of money and a horrible experience. The entire soccer team stayed there and not one family is happy. Stay away.

Forced to stay here after Delta airlines stranded me again. Room 313 had extention cords instead of enough outlets, tv cable coming out of a hole in the wall. The bath mat in tub was nasty and half stuck/half not. Water coming out of bath faucet was spraying sideways because of clogged filter. Ate at Bowties, ok but not great. Wouldn't stay here again unless I had to

My boyfriend and I like to come to Niagara Falls often for mini getaways. We always choose Quality Hotel because of the great value. Room is comfortable and spacious. Good location to falls attractions and restaurants although not walking distance but it is quieter than other hotels. We have never had a problem and are sure to come back soon.

Room Tip: The fireplace in the presidential suite is kind of small. A king with a whirlpool room is just as go...

We had a jacuzzi king suite. Very large room with sitting area, TV, fireplace. Very clean and quiet. The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants and the falls. Front desk was polite and helpful. We would stay here again.

Just yesterday we stayed at this hotel and parked in their lot. We woke to find out that someone had smashed the driver's side window and used a crowbar on the door to get into the vehicle. There was also another car in the lot this night that it happened to. Little to no assistance was give, cameras in the lot also do not work. Security at it worse. Be very aware of leaving your vehicle there.
