Check in took us over 1.5 hours. We were assigned a room after a long wait, we went to that room and on the way noted the dirty sheets, towels and coffee makers piled in the corner. We put our key in the door and opened it only to find....another guest's things were all over the room. We quickly closed the door and went to the front desk. They apologized, and gave us a new room. We went up to that room, and guess what? Another guest's things were already in that room too! This is not only incompetent but dangerous. We could have stolen anything we wanted to. They apologized again and offered to upgrade us to a suite if we would wait for it to be cleaned. We agreed. About 10 minutes later, an irate young woman approached the front desk--she was staying in--you guessed it--the suite they were trying to give us! Apparently she had just come out of the shower, completely naked, when a family walked into her room! That means that not only did they try to give us her room, but at the same time they tried to give her room away to another family!
While we were waiting, we realized they had charged our card twice. They wanted to wait till the morning to fix it, but we insisted they refund us right away, as we had not yet seen the falls and only had one night in Niagara. We didn't want to spend all morning at the front desk as well.
As we left our forth room (empty!) I put a note on the door: "People are already in this room, please don't open." Upon returning to our room after seeing the falls we tried both of our hotel keys only to find they no longer worked in the door. Why? Because they had reprogramed the door for someone else!
Other guests had the same thing happen. They had no control over the situation. People who were out all day came back to find their rooms uncleaned. There was a woman who had no electricity in her room, and they told her they would bring her a lamp! The hallways were filthy, even though the rooms looked clean. The sign at the front desk just said "Hotel" the old logo had just been ripped off the sign. The pool was dirty. There is no breakfast and no spa.
Don't stay here. It's unsafe and a complete disaster.
