“Very Impressed with Camprk Resott”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2009

My family (including 7 year old son) and I stayed at Campark in a cabin for 4 nights in July 2009. We where impressed with the campground and where very impressed with all there was for us to do as a family. The pool was good size and my son loved it. There where 2 parks for him to play at, as well as an arcade in which we could all do a little something.
I was quite impressed with the cheap breakfasts in the barn during the week; all 3 of us could eat for under 20$.
I would definitely recommend this place to people who would rather camp it out and enjoy the outdoors than to stay in a stuffy motel room.

Our family stayed here late August 2008 in one of their one room camping cabins. We came to see the Niagara Falls and area attractions but were pleasantly surprised by the activities offered at the park. The kids did crafts in the morning, played mini putt and swam in the pool. They even have a breakfast restaurant right on site. Bathrooms were clean and well kept and the staff were friendly and helpful.

This place is clean and has great camping feel. Been coming back for 5 years and it is WAY better then the crowded KOA or Jellystone. They got this Mc Donalds style play ground with tubes and a ball pit my children played in all day. They are working on a some huge new mini putt with a water fall it suppose it should be done very soon.

Over all it was cleaner, safer and alot more family friendly then the other "Tourist Trap KOA or Jellystones" locations near by.

We stayed at Campark Resorts (I would call it CAMPARK DUMPS) .. for 1 week in late June '07 with my wife and 2 kids.

As soon as we entered park we saw the Miniature golf ... it was
so rundown that we got very nervous .. as you will see - we had
good reason to be nervous.

The place is not very clean .. most everything is run down and not maintained.

The gameroom for the kids was so dumpy we refused to let
our kids play in there .. on the door is says no refunds for lost
change .. we heard 1/2 the time you lose your money when playing pinball or any of their old video games.

They claim to have activities for the kids but never saw anything.
Since we have young kids - we inquired at store and was
told they they just hired new rec. person and she is learning.
Learning what .. how to avoid holding activities.

The hot tub is OLD, water smelled and not very hot.
The pool was ok but the lawn chairs where 1/2 broken.

They now serve breakfast .. price is ok but the servings are
very skimpy .. not worth eating breakfast at park.

The cabin was small and not very clean .. the mattresses had pee stains on them .. I was not impressed.

My advise .. stay at KOA just down the road .. we drove through
it and its 100% nicer than CAMPARK DUMPS

I would never stay at CAMPARK RESORTS again!!!

Please re-consider and select KOA - you will not be sorry.

We stay overnight at Niagara Falls each year on our return trip from Algonquin Park with the Scout Troop.
We had stayed in the KOA campground just down Lundy's Lane and decided to try a new (cheaper) spot. What a mistake!
We arrived in the early evening and the first thing I had to do when we got to our cabins was clear away a dozen or so beer bottles from the picnic table outside.
Our cabins were stuffy and the tiny undersized windows were not all working so the atmosphere inside was stifling. The area surrounding the cabins, the cabins themselves, and the bathrooms were all run down, dirty and just plain sad.
After getting dinner in town we returned and went to bed. Apparently there was no one to enforce the "all quiet after 11PM" rule as a band of rowdy folks were up a few feet from our cabin drinking, strumming guitars and singing until 4:00 AM. Thank goodness for ear plugs!
I won't complain about the trains that run nearby through all night long - I was warned about that when we made our reservations.
We wasted no time clearing out the next morning - and will never return.

I just want to clarify some things in this review. First, we do have security guards and they stayed until 1:30am, the park was quiet at this time. These "rowdy" people mentioned in the review were at a local festival and decided to bring the party to our park at 2:30am. They were evicted from the park as Campark Resorts has very low tolerance for "partiers" as we are a family park. As for cleanliness, we are very highly rated by Trailer Life and Woodall's and get numerous compliments on the cleanliness of our park.

We stayed at the Campark for 2 nights, but spent most of our time at the Falls. Still, our info may help some travelers.

The campsite was extremely clean, we were happy with that. The sites are also small, though, and pretty open. If you are used to state parks, do not expect the shrubs that usually offer some privacy. If you are there for the falls, it doesn't matter. Actually seemed to help the usual problem with mosquitoes as the bugs did not have much habitat. We still had shade at our site.

Bring earplugs. There are train tracks that ran alongside the park; several trains come through blowing their horns at all hours of the night. Some of the children in the park were quite noisy. With our earplugs, we were able to muffle these noises. Otherwise it would have prevented us from sleeping. The park has small cabins- they are nestled close together. Earplugs would still be a good idea.

Other misc.: Check-in was easy. The security gate was still broken as another reviewer noted. The hot tub is not hot- 92 degrees, and the jets don't work well. The pool seemed fine- we just looked. Did not try the restaurant. Park has a small convenience store. The shuttle to the falls was NOT free, but it is quite easy to drive to the falls. We found parking available at rates of $4, 5, 10, and 12 per day. There is a Walmart in town that had a small supply of groceries. There were many activities going on for children. For example, one day they had tie-dye T-shirts for $5. The hot breakfast at the park was just under $6. We didn't try it, but would be convenient for those interested. The showers were hot- can be very hot so be careful which way you turn them on! There were about 8-10 showers available, very nice not to have a long wait. They were cleaned daily both days we were there, so if you get up early enough (before 7), there were showers still freshly clean & not used. There were also many toilets and sinks available- never had to wait to use one.

Overall we were happy. The park has a lot of rules (no campfires after midnight, etc), that perhaps keep away those just looking to party. We would definitely consider staying here again if we return to the Canadian side of the falls. The price was right for a clean campsite with adequate facilities.

  • Liked — Cleanliness
  • Disliked — Noisy at night, some dog owners did not follow the rules re: leash

This park has MANY permanent residents. If you arrive late in the evening be aware that some of the road signs within the park are not pointed in the correct direction and some are missing. Makes it tough to find your site. If you come in after dark there are no street lights and it is very dark on the roads. Wi-Fi does not reach the whole park. If you are camping in the pull through sites you will be out of range. None of the pull through area had been maintained by watering so it was very dry and dusty. The security gate was broken when we arrived and was still broken when we left. We were going to do laundry but found out that you needed Canadian quarters and we of course didn't have that many. We left a day early and the park would not refund the last day. Not very customer friendly. Can't recommend this park for RV's.
