if you want a good value hotel overlooking the Falls look no further. Well located.
We went to the falls every day
Free car park and wifi
Nice indoor pool
But tired and needing a freshening up. So do the staff
The deal with Remingtons is the best value in town, try it!

Room Tip: get a falls view

We stayed at the Oakes for the Niagara Falls women's half marathon on june 1st. We were there for three nights and thought the rates were great. The service was awsome and the room was clean. We were in the motel part. The beds were comfy. Our biggest problem was the Neighbors. both nights we had parties going on next door or two doors down... spent half the night up with the yelling and banging. We will be checking if we'll be staying there again next year for the event.

Recently took the overnight package offered through Travelzoo. The package itself was excellent value and included dinner at Remingtons (very good), breakfast at Applebees next door plus vouchers for 2 wine tastings. Our room had an ok view of the Falls and was clean but tired. As a matter of fact, the hotel could use a facelift. The Oakes is located near the Casino and is within a 1km walk of the Falls- easy downhill, harder uphill! If you can get a good package, try it- otherwise take a pass.

I looked long and hard for the best hotel for a girl's weekend. There were 5 of us. We booked a suite that slept 6 and got a very reasonable race. I saw other reviews about the hotel being older and a little dated and I would agree with that. But if we stayed next door the price would have been at least $200 more for the same type of room. I wouldn't describe the suite as "spacious" as in the description. It was a normal decent sized hotel room with another area with a sofa bed that's a double bed.

The internet didn't work the first day, but they didn't charge us for it at all. The service was fine, very prompt when we needed something. The fitness center is very dated, the stairmaster looked like one of the first they ever made. No weights. Pool area is small and a little dark.

The beds slept fine. A/C was adequate though the sofa sleeper which was at the opposite end of where the A/C unit was didn't get much air. There's a wall that separates that area. So the ones on the sleeper were a little warm during the night.

Location: No matter anything I said that may be negative, this was made up by the spectacular view of the Falls we had. We were on the 18th floor. It really was amazing. Hotel is walking distance to anything you need.

So if I were coming with a group again, I wouldn't mind staying here as you can't beat the price for this location and the views. If I was coming with just my husband, I'd probably stay somewhere else a little newer.

Room Tip: You must stay on the Falls side! At least on the 9th floor!

I booked this on ebooking based on a 4 star ranking from 29 Apr 13 to 1 May 13. Make no mistake , it was terrible. Way worse than any extended stay I have been. There are much better (and newer) options nearby for essentially the same price. The way it is advertised is nearly fraud. Photos are deceiving. For the first time in my life I was about to call the credit card company to hold payment. Then they gave me a slightly better room and I just did not want to go through the trouble for a two days stay. Again this is 1 star at most and it will spoil your vacation.

Room Tip: stay away from courtyards - higher up may be better but just book something else. A/C super noisy or...

We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay at The Oakes. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was large and bright and everything was clean. We could not hear any noise
from other hotel guests, nice and quiet.
We purchased a packed which included 2 full hot breakfasts at Applebees next door.
The hotel shuttle took us to Remington Steak House for a delicious 3 course meal which was included in the package. Four different wine vouchers were also included so or course we had to go wine tasting which made for a very enjoyable afternoon. Two vouchers for Seneca Casino on the US side were part of the package as well.
We were quite surprised at the quality of the hotel and the package that they put together.
We would definitely return to The Oakes again and would recommend it to our friends and family.

Room Tip: All rooms overlook the falls and of course the higher up you are the better the views. The hotel is...

Just got back from the oaks and was not that impressed as we purchased a package from travelzoo and we paid our upgrade for a friday evening stay. It was to be used by May 13 although they had no rooms available for those dates when we went to book our stay, so after talking to their general manager she said they would extend it for 30 days so we booked for May 31. Then upon arrival they told us we had to pay an additional 30 dollars due to the extension of the deal. The room we were in needs to be upgraded as it had an old tv that had poor reception and the room was very dusty. Halls had staining on the carpets and just did not have a good feel about it. We have stayed at the Oaks for years and will look elsewhere from now on.
