“AWESOME!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2010

After several hours of searching, I chose the Sheraton on the Falls. My expectations were exceeded in all catagories. The only disappointment was that there wasn't a hot tub, which would have been nice after all the walking and activities. You are in the heart of the district. Head on view of the American Falls. You can park and not use your vehicle, if you want, as most everything is quite close! I loved waking up to the roar of the falls and Starbucks in the lobby. Definately opt for a room with the view, it is worth the extra money. Yes, this is a pricey, upscale hotel, where you pay to breathe. If you know that going in, then you are prepared not to touch the goodies or look at the concierge staff ;)

Uncertain beginning to the stay as upon arrival you park in a small area where you are instructed to leave window down & keys in the ignition? However, check-in was efficient and we were soon on our way up to a great room with awesome views on both the Canadian and American Falls. Couldn't beat standing out on the small balcony and to add to the expeience it started snowing (although February, the area had experienced very little snow). Enjoyed sitting in the whirlpool bath, watching tv and looking out through the floor to ceiling windows over the falls !
Enjoyed breakfast one morning, the service and quality of food was very good. Bearing in mind the likes of Perkins and Dennys here are grossly overpriced it was really not a bad deal at all.
Easy to walk to Clifton Hill (extremely tacky!) and a variety of shops & restaurants. Linked up to Hard Rock Cafe, hotel next door and the water park, as well as the parking garage (at busy times, it can take a while to get to/from).
All-in-all a very good stay indeed and you cannot beat those views, something we'll never forget.

This hotel was in a great location to view the falls from your room. Its really worth paying the extra to be on the falls view side as we got some fantastic photos. It waqs great opening the window to hear the water gushing down. Had no complaints with this hotel. The falls view restaurant had a good buffet but was pricey but you got the view which is genrally the same as from your room.

I am currently sitting in a conference hall at this Hotel. The air conditioner is not working and the conference room is about 30 degrees C (90 F). My experience has not been good. To summarize, On the first night my room AC was not working and had to be repaired (which was done quickly.) My assistant had booked an upgraded Falls View room with whirlpool and balcony. I have included a picture of the balcony which was literally 1 foot wide and 22 stories high. The view of the main falls was non-existent but I could see a portion of the American side of the falls (the smaller ones). The bulk of my view was the metal roof of the hotel (see photo). There were cigarette butts on the "balcony" of my non-smoking room and multiple spiders/webs. The whirlpool hot tub was a standard (small) tub with jets and the side panel partially falling off. The service was acceptable but as a business traveler I needed dry cleaning and was told on Saturday that I would not get my clothes back until Wednesday because it was a long weekend. Also, the business center closed at 5 so I had to have the front desk print and fax documents for me. I would not stay here again.

I Must admit, its hard to believe the great reviews for this hotel. I suppose it all depends on what your looking for. I came here for a conference for 5 days. The rooms are clean, the view is fantastic, its close to all the tacky tourist attractions (ie. Wax museum, Riplie's Belive it, Haunted Houses...yes, weird).

The problem is that the hotel isnt cheap and it is filled with "secret charges." For one, there is a Starbuck's in the lobby,m however the price of Coffee is twice a normal starbucks and for some reason, the coffee is AWFULL, many people noticed this, watered down coffee..The room is filled with tourist trap stuff that costs a fortune, more so than other hotels. There is a fitness room, but what they fail to tell you is it costs 10.00 a day to use! there is wireless internet, 15.00 a day and it is just awfull, unreliable, slow, very very bad. Dont even look at the swimming pool. Yuck.

This is not a hotel if you want internet, business, a conference or fitness. And to top it all off, wait till you see the situation with the elevators. Only some go to the top 12 floors but yet, you have no choice which elevator stops. Its just really odd and hard to explain.

For parking, its in a building that is shared by other hotels and business, it took me 35 minutes to park. Just awfull.

I'd highly recommend staying at the Hilton, much nicer, less tacky and just better. This place is a tourist trap.

Our room was facing the Falls, we had an awesome view, they hotel moved us up several floors so we could enjoy the view even better. Everything we wanted to do was in walking distance, we did not have to rent a car at all. Will do again..

I got the hotel in a very good price by bidding from priceline, without breakfast and internet though. The location is good. I crossed the border by walking. The hotel is right on the Canadian side of Rainbow Bridge. It is easy to access the restaurants. Need a little bit walking to the falls but the trail along the river is good. Room was big and nice. It would be better if being able to get a falls view room.
