“Staff (A+)...2-Storey $435/night PENTHOUSE (F+ Total Crap!!!)”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2011

A friend of mine booked the 2-storey Penthouse at the Sheraton on the Falls. He did this as a few of use were to use it with him and we wanted a view of the Falls.

DO NOT BOOK THIS SUITE.
http://www.sheratononthefalls.com/accommodations-penthousetwostorey.php?

Totally BS!!.....we walked in and felt as if we were whisked back-in-time. The Brady Bunch stairs and furniture threw me aback.

The MAIN thing: walking into the room and smelling the worse ODOR ever!
Looks like the Sheraton hasn't upgraded their CARPET in 20 years. The stench just inside the front door hallway was so disgusting. Smelled like dirty socks or as if someone tried to clean the carpet with a WET dirty MOP! DISGUSTING!

I have stayed in Vegas in many suites and I do think the Sheraton needs to learn what goes into a suite. Especially a penthouse worth $435 a night!

-NO TOWELS were left in the bathroom
-NO mini-FRIDGE in the room (normally ANY suite/penthouse has this option)
-The AIR-CONDITIONING was NOT working properly (we didn't notice this till around 2am when we got back to our room. we had dropped off our luggage and went to gamble/eat)
-The BALCONY???? Give me break! The website states:
"This room also features a view of Niagara Falls from the lower floor step out balcony"
KEYWORD: STEP-OUT balcony. Literally about 7 feet X 3 feet.
It is not paved...it is a gravel patio.....not very comfortable (you CAN smoke out there)
*FYI: THIS hotel has NON-SMOKING rooms ONLY!

ONE THING: the staff was very very NICE. Concierge nice. Restaurant Servers and Bar staff nice. Too bad they have to work in a run-down hotel and make excuses for it.
I would NOT recommend the Restaurant, except for DRINKS ONLY!
Great view of the Falls, nice staff. We went there for drinks as we had to wait for a room to be done. (again check-in is for 4pm. It was not ready until 4:45pm. Strange. You would think that the Penthouse would be priority with it being so stupidly over-priced and expensive

This hotel should be shut down.
I would NOT recommend booking here.
Also no control on kids. Parents no where to be found. Kids in/out of elevators as if they were 'rides at Wonderland'......no security enforcing "where are you parents?"

My one main beef was the 2-STOREY PENTHOUSE SUITE.
FORGET IT. SAVE your $435 and go to Fallsview Casino Hotel, at least that hotel is UPDATED and doesn't smell

My message to the Sheraton on the Falls Owners:
-Quit being so cheap. Rip out the lame old stinky carpet.
(do like Fallsview and get a carpet with removable SQUARES)
-Upgrade your 1970's furniture.
-Put some bucks into the A/C.
-PS....check-in TIME......hey have it for 4pm. WHAT???
(we never got our room till 4:45pm.......ridiculous!)

I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The end:)

See photos......sorry forgot to take a pic of the upstairs (bed/bathroom)
The bed was okay........bathroom huge.......everything else ......MEH~!

Room Tip: TIP: Do NOT book the 2-storey PENTHOUSE. Go to Fallsview Casino Hotel instead.

Nice hotel with a great view. Don't expect much from the $300 bonus offered. We took the kids to Swat Team Ride (none of the electronic guns worked) operator apologized, the mini golf was a joke (greens in poor condition ripped course & debris everywhere), Traffic Slam Bumper Cars (only 4 cars were working)..operator apologized to everyone, took the kids to the arcade area to cool off, A/C was broken & we realized why no one was here (other than the A/C was broken)...the roof was leaking in the middle of the room creating a potentially hazardous condition, but none of the teen operators seemed to care). It definitely was not any sort of extra value for our family. We did enjoy the Maid of the Mist & the Falls. Shop carefully for a better hotel experience if you're bringing children. Very disappointed with the operators of this hotel. It would not have taken much to clean and repair areas designated for children's use. They probably don't have kids.

My family stayed at Sheraton on the Falls for a two day trip to see Niagara Falls. I spent a lot of time on TripAdvisor reading reviews for hotels and I am SO happy that we chose Sheraton on the Falls. Because we only were staying one night, we paid to get a fallsview room. When we checked in, without us even asking, they bumped us up to the 21st floor to that fallsview room. It was so beautiful! There is one window that opens so that you can hear the falls and it was great. The hotel was incredibly clean and looked upscale. I had read that there is a long wait for elevators, and that was somewhat true; however, you have to realize that when you're staying at a hotel in a touristy area in the summer it's, of course, going to be crowded. The pool was somewhat small, but was still a lovely area. We paid for the valet parking ($30 . . . ouch!), but we thought it was worth it to pay the extra $11 to have them park and fetch the car because the parking area is quite a hike. The car arrived quickly when we needed it and every staff member was extremely polite. We did not pay to have the breakfast included in our package, but ended up eating there anyway. It came to $46 for two adults (kids eat free every morning), but there was tons of food from pancakes, French toast, to fruite, cereal, pastries and such. The only complaint I have about the buffet is that the French toast was rock hard. I wouldn't typically care, but I have a four year old who could live off of those. Nonetheless, there are tons of options, so it wasn't a big deal. I had read reviews that the restaurant would be overly crowded for breakfast, but it was not at all. It is big enough that there wasn't a wait and everything went smoothly.
We will, without a doubt, always stay at this hotel when returning to Niagara Falls. I hate staying in hotels because I have two small kids and I worry about the rooms being dirty, but these rooms were immaculate. Another convenience is that this hotel is attached to the waterpark, restaurants and shops -- so if you happen to be there on a rainy day, you are all set without having to step outside.
Great place!!

Room Tip: Pay to get a lower level fallsview room and keep your fingers crossed that you'll get bumped to...

We stayed on the 17th floor in one of the rooms with a juliet balcony - it was absolutely awesome. We actually planned the stay around the fireworks for Canada's Independence Day. What a view. The fireworks were right outside out window, with falls as a backdrop and with the window open, you had all the sounds of the falls and the fireworks. It was one of the best experiences ever. The hotel room was comfortable, the beds were great, fireplace not used but we tried it and it would have been great if it was cooler. We loved it so much we had breakfast (Steak and Eggs) in bed. It was a lovely experience for the 4 of us. What a wonderful way to spend the last days of a vacation. The price was very high, but would definately do it again, if only for one night.... Awesome!!!

Room Tip: Higher floors are the best. A must have is the juliet balcony.

The staff at the Sheraton was friendly, helpful and available around the clock. The room was beautiful, clean, comfortabe, and had a great view. The indoor/outdoor pools and workout facility are
top notch. We will not hesitate to stay at the Sheraton again, and will recommend it to family and friends. Thanks for the great experience!!

I am writing from my phone, since the internet in the hotel room hasn't been working for 2 days..
I tried calling the internet company that they outsourced , and they couldnt fix it ...

First time I hear about a 5-star hotel without a working internet connection!

Also there is no safe in the room ... Which is a very important thing...

Also they have this "Refrigerator Rentals upon request" ... $25 per stay (that's an extra cost that other hotels don't charge)
