“Fantastic Hotel with stunning views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2010

My wife and I celebrated our 23rd Wedding Anniversary here Friday & Saturday and I did alot of research on Niagra Falls to make it perfect. I booked a Fallsview Spa room that had a glass enclosed whirlpool bath, kingsize bed and a nice sitting area to gaze at the Falls. Upon check in the staff was pleasant and couteous even though we checked in 1 hour early. The elevators were not slow all weekend and we waited no more than 1 minute each time!!! The room was spotless and clean and had all the modern amenities one would expect from a Sheraton. We had room 919 and the real suprising thing with that is that is our anniverary date 9/19. I booked this through Expedia and got rates lower than I could directly from Sheraton.

This hotel is nice and quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Clifton Hill. As far as walking to everything, it is definetly possible as we walked to the rainbow bridge and back daily to take in all the great views.

Booked a Fallsview Room and were not disappointed with the splendid viiew. The higher rooms enjoy a better panorama, so aim high!
The staff were welcoming and the rooms are comfortable and the Sleep Sleeper beds provide a good night's rest.
The hotel is a little way away from the main attractions but everything is walkable if you are reasonably fit.
The charge of $20+taxes for a day's parking is a bit cheeky as the more central hotels charge less.

I booked this hotel for a weekend getaway for my wife and 1 year old as part of our 10 year wedding anniversary. Chose this hotel based on the star rating, brand, and location. The price was steep but I told myself to splurge and go for the four star hotel right on the falls to ensure that we had a good time and were well taken care of. Big mistake! I would have been as well off to book at an EconoLodge or Motel6.
The first hint that the stay might not be as advertised was that our room in the "Sheraton Fallsview" overlooked a lovely parking lot and a view of the exhaust fans from what I assume was the kitchen. The only view of the falls we got from the hotel was through the dirty window at the elevator.
For an added bonus the windows in the hotel room must date from the 1970s as they have no childproof latches or safety stops and an inquisitive toddler could easily slide both windows open and fall to their death.
So given that the scenic view was out , we decided on a visit to the pool. This proved slightly difficult to find since the room had no listing of hotel ammenities or services to be found. A common convenience in every hotel I have ever stayed in (except this one). Once we contacted guest services to find the pool we had a great time until it was closed because a "turd" was discovered at the bottom (not from my boy I must add :-). After a decontamination shower the family was good to go on our next adventure.
Out on the town to see the sites and grab a bite to eat. Returned later that night to put our son to bed and went hunting for a quick sugar hit. Not a vending machine or snack concession to be found in the building. Ended up going down to the restaurant and waiting 15 minutes for an ice cream order to go (a steal at only $12).
Finally getting ready for bed, I come across what I can only assume is some kind of food stuff (cookie crumb? bread?) crusted onto the inside of the bed sheet.
The next morning we decide to make the best of it and get out of dodge (aka the Falls). While standing in the lobby we notice that the in-hotel shops (jeweler/gift shop) are all vacant. Obviously they saw the writing on the wall ahead of us.
The one good thing I can say for the hotel is that the valet parking was prompt and efficient.

The rooms are very nice (and clean), and the view is spectacular. We enjoyed using the pool several nights during our stay. The location is also very good.

We had a city view room on the 17th floor. We were offered an upgrade to fallsview for an extra $40 a night but declined. I discovered a terrace on the third floor and spent sometime there admiring the view. The room was very nice, with beautiful bedding and comfy bed, club chair and ottoman, flat screen TV, mini fridge and single serve coffee maker. Tiniest hotel bathroom I have ever seen. Very clean.
We had a certificate for $40 in the hotel restaurant for dinner and vouchers for breakfast through expedia. Poor, poor service both times we ate there.
I really liked the location. It is a short walk to the casino yet not in the middle of all the action.

We enjoyed our stay. One group had the fireplace/whirlpool suite and the other just had the fireplace suite. The fake fireplace is tacky but the room is nice. Hotel staff was incredibly accomodating. Views are unbelieveable-- you are right on the falls. Lobby can be bustling and very busy. The only serious negative: the restaurant. We tried it for both breakfast and dinner (once for each meal, and only because we had coupons). It was terrible. They seemed largely geared towards the buffet, which is huge (but each item is less appetizing than the next). Instead, we tried to order a la carte. Service was unbelieveably slow and they made mistakes on our order. After the first day, we bought cereal, milk, fruit, etc at a grocery store and rented a refrigerator from the hotel to store perishables. Much better option for breakfast. For dinner, try a free standing restaurant (we LOVED Carpacchio) as we've heard that other hotel restaurants in Niagara are as bad as this one.
