“Marriott Gateway Niagara Falls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Stayed at the hotel to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary. We had a superior deluxe room on the 28th floor. Bellhop service was a little off (Had to hail him twice and I was parked at the entrance. Once he got our bags service was good and quick. (He met us at the room) Check in was quick and easy and the clerk couldn't have been nicer. When we arrived at the room and opened the door we couldn't believe the view..WOW. The room overall was average and the bed was comfortable. One chair needed cushion support as you sunk when sitting down. Room service was quick and the food was great. Hallways leading to the room were extremely hot and smelled of some sort of air freshener. Elevators were also hot. Parking was ok except the $20 fee a day. Overall it was a good experience..nice hotel ..fantastic view worth paying more for....would stay here again.

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better the view,,,for easy access to the falls walk through the other Marri...

The location is great, especially if you get falls view. We got street view. The floor's window had great view, but needed cleaning. The carpet in our room could have used some vacuuming. ther than that, the room was specious enough, pool ok and requests for towels and more then one shampoo for 4 people answered kindly and speadily

We just stayed at the Marriott gateway on the falls. We payed a lot of money to stay there. We were on the very top floor, this was nice and the view was amazing. Although there was only two windows that didn't really give the full effect. As well our couch that was in the room was stained and felt dirty. The room was not open at all and was very choppy. A breakfast buffet was included and it was cold and you could tell it had sat out a long time. The front desk service was pretty good when you had questions. We went to Embassy suites a month before and this was an amazing stay AND it was cheaper. It really did have floor to ceiling windows. You could see the view from the falls in almost every angle of the room including the Jacuzzi. I would highly suggest embassy over Marriott any day!

Our room was beautiful . We had a 22nd floor fallsview suite thanks to a wonderful supervisor that upraded me because of my Marriot elite status. The bed was comfortable. This was the first time that all of the bedding for my son's sofabed was there and the bed was made. Service was very good. Housekeeping fulfilled requests for extra towels and shampoo quickly. The hotel was very well located, just across the street from the incline railway to the falls. A bonus was the was viewing point for the falls just across from the falls. What a treat it was to go back to the hotel and see the falls again.

Room Tip: opt for high floor if possible, view is gorgeous

We loved this place for its location, restaurant (YES!!), and view. We opted to pay a bit more for the fallsview and was well worth it. They accommodated our request to stay on a higher level floor for the view and was spectacular! We dined both nights at the Milestones on-site restaurant b/c of the prices, cocktails (Bellini is MUST try!) and kid-friendly meals and prices). Turns out, between the two hotels we stayed at during our vacation, the Milestones was by far the best food, drink, and service for the price hands-down. The only thing that prevented a 5-star was the fact that some of the furniture in the room was a little ratty, like the club chair with holes in the arm rests and ripping apart at the seams of the cushions. NOt a big deal, but for a Marriott and the price we paid per room ($190), it was sub par. Beyond that, the room was small, but clean and comfy for the 5 of us (2 grown ups and 3 kids), room svc was great. Parking fee a bit steep for what we paid for the room rate, about $20/day and they charge you a service fee if you access the wireless in your room ($12). So, a bit of of nickle and diming, but we were happy overall. Also, hotel pool a bit small and cloudy, but we were too busy to use much.

Room Tip: Request a higher-level room if you buy one with a fallsview (above 10th floor) and make any 6yo you...

Dear Trip Advisor Member,

We are glad to hear that your family enjoyed your stay here at the Marriott Gateway. We thank you for your comments regarding our view, location and Milestones Grill + Bar. We do have plans to update our pool and guestrooms in the future so that they reflect the new look of the rest of the hotel. We provide complimentary internet in the hotel lobby and the business centre for our guests that do not wish to pay for the in-room service. We hope that you will join us again soon!

There are 2 Marriott hotels literally across from each other. Falls view is a closer to the attraction, and has the casino in it it looks a little older inside. Gateway is very nice, rooms , stuff, services, but elevators are the bottleneck, allow extra time especially when staying on upper floors. Like in many other hotels pool is very small and is always full of kids. So its a plus if you are traveling with children. Gym is well equipped, it would be nice to have water fountain or larger dispenser. Small dispenser was filled with ice and no water. If these deficiencies don't bother you then i can recommend Gateway for stay at Niagara Falls

Room Tip: book the falls view room

My boyfriend booked a stay at the Marriott through a deal on Travelzoo. The hotel and room was okay but my expectations were not that high because our accommodations were fairly inexpensive. The view of the falls from this hotel is very nice but I found the hotel room to be dirty ( the carpet was very dirty and the chair in the room had visible stains). We stayed two nights and in the morning before our departure I found multiple bites on my back, in clusters of three. I looked at pictures and signs of bed bugs on google and my bites looked identical. I told the front desk about the bites I got while staying in the hotel and I found them to be very helpful and accommodating- but they denied bed bugs. After I left the hotel i received a statement from a pest control company forwarded to me by the hotel stating that there were no "visible signs" of bed bugs. I would caution anyone who is planning on staying at this hotel.

Dear Trip Advisor Member,

We take complaints regarding any type of bug very seriously to ensure that our guests are safe while staying with us. The guestroom that you stayed in was inspected upon your departure by our pest control company and the reports from the inspection came back that there were not any bugs in the room. You are aware of this as you received copies of this same report after your departure.
