“GREAT PLACE TO STAY!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

We stayed there for 5 nights mid-October. A good time of the year, I must say, with summer crowds gone and the fall foliage in all its glory! The lobby is large and inviting, the staff was cordial and efficient. Our room was quite cold when we arrived and the heater didn't seem to warm the room up enough to our liking (us being from Phoenix, AZ). I called the front desk and an attendant brought us a space heater that worked quite nicely. They offered to move us to another room but since we had unpacked most of our stuff we decided to not move. We climatically adjusted and only used the heater 1 or 2 more times in the bathroom. The room was adequate and the Wi-Fi was fast and easy to connect to. As the hotel advertises, its only a block from the falls. We didn't rent a car but were able to walk to all the attractions along the falls and the river. .The breakfast room was the largest one I've ever seen but the food wasn't anything spectacular - the usual offerings: waffles, eggs - scrambled and hard boiled, cereals, muffins, yogurt, fruit, potatoes and sausage. Had never seen sausage patties look or taste like that before. The indoor pool area was quite large and had a Jacuzzi. The breakfast room overlooked this area. All in all it was a very nice place to stay and I would stay there again if I ever go back to Niagara Falls. I was totally surprised at the commercialization of the downtown area. It was a cross between Las Vegas, Fisherman's Wharf and Disneyland. But at least those factors added additional interest to our off-season visit.

Room Tip: During the summer months you might want to stay in a room toward the rear of the hotel as there is a...

Hello BobbiNRon,

Thanks for taking the time to comment on your stay at our Comfort Inn in Niagara Falls.
I am pleased that you found our staff cordial and efficient. Sorry that your room was a bit cold at first, glad the heater made things just right. The fact that you are from Phoenix reminded me of my first visit there. It was in June, I thought I would look around the area near the hotel. When I got outside I wondered why the streets were so deserted, didn’t take long before I knew why. It was 110 degrees outside and you could fry an egg on the sidewalk. Should you have the occasion to visit Niagara Falls again please say hello, I’ll give you a few tips on some of the off the beaten path things to see & do.

Cheers,
Pat

I have tried the higher end hotels around the area and just I keep coming back to the comfort inn. its clean/cozy, good enough cont. breakfast, and it usually comes in around $80 a night (getting it at $60 a night for 2 nights in Jan '13)

Could use a good upgrading through out the hotel but no visable problems as of yet.

Best of all the location, right on Cliffton Hill and within walking distance of most attractions :)

Room Tip: No fitness center - has ok pool

This was our 2nd stay at this hotel, the first being about 10 years ago. The location is perfect, right on Clifton Hill in the middle of the action and a short walk from the falls. We had a family suite which was huge and very reasonably priced. The breakfast room is very large and overlooks the indoor pool which is neat. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Parking is free. The lobby had guides, maps, brochures, and coupons to all area attractions.

On the down side, the place looks like nothing has been done to it since our last stay 10 years ago. It was clean but just looked and felt old if that makes sense. Also, the door to our room didn't really close well. You really had to force it to get it to click shut. Furniture and linens were outdated. Also be aware that there are a couple of small steps to go from the lobby to the halls where the rooms are so if that poses a problem, ask first. There may be spots that are handicapped accessible but I didn't see them.

Overall, a good choice. It is cheaper than some of the newer, fancier hotels closer to the falls while still being in a great location. We would stay there again.

Had a nice room near the pool; good breakfast and eating room was kept clean in spite of the hords of people. Across the street from the big ferris wheel. Lots of things to do for kids. Would go back again. Within walking distance of attractions and fireworks.

Room Tip: If travelling with kids, it's worth the extra money for a room near the pool. Rooms near the po...

We booked this hotel after deciding that paying $200 plus for one of the more fancy hotels in Niagara Falls. The hotel was easy to find and right across the street from all the attractions in the Clifton Hill area. Plenty of things to do, places to eat and a 5 min walk to the falls. We booked a room that overlooked the pool/hot tub area. These rooms are fabulous if you have kids with you. We didn't have the kids this time and found the room to be a little loud because of the echo of the pool area but it did quiet down in the evening. Only problem with the room was the pool side rooms only come with double beds and the room didn't have a small frig or anything. My advice would be to bring a cooler if you are staying here and want to keep things cold. Room was clean and was served it's purpose. No views of the falls but we paid $100 less because of it. Breakfast was good. Pretty standard items including waffles, cereal, yogurt, breads, and muffins. Breakfast times were good as well. 7-10am which is great if your on vacation and wanting to sleep in a bit. The staff keep the breakfast stocked right until 10am and even a few minutes after. Overall it was a great hotel and you can't beat the location. If you are looking for a family oriented hotel or a weekend getaway I would recommend this hotel. If you are looking for a romantic getaway then I would suggest one of the hotels out of the Clifton HIll area.

Room Tip: If you have kids, it's totally worth it to pay a little extra and get the poolside rooms.

We arrived here on Thursday morning without a reservation. The clerk was very pleasant, the rate was great and we were given the room immediately at 9:30 a.m. This was a great convenience. Parking was free on Thursday.
The room was fantastic, had all the amenities including a coffee maker with coffee, tea, etc. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean.
The breakfast the next morning was included. The "breakfast room" was the size of a banquet hall and the food was along one very long wall. The selection was fantastic and was replaced as it ran low. We would definitely go back and highly recommend this spacious hotel so close to the action.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor and the location was great. While they had a fitness centre, we did not...

Close to all the attractions, plenty of restaurants and things to do within walking distance. Clean, Comfortable. Friendly staff!! The eggs at breakfast left something to be desired but everything else was great! We would stay here again for sure!!!
