“I have to say we were pleased”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

We got to Niagara Falls, pulled in and asked if they had a room. I'm glad we didn't look at the other reviews first. Our stay was pleasant enough. The front desk staff were all friendly, helpful, welcoming, etc. They even offered some great tips and helped us navigate the WeGo bus system.

Our room was clean and comfortable. It wasn't brand spanking new by any means, but certainly served its purpose. The kids loved the pool and we were able to check out in the morning and leave our car in the parking lot all day while we went down to the Falls via the bus that stops right in front of the hotel. Handy!

My family and I stayed here this past week.... 1st room we got stunk terribly of some kind of chemical, it hit us in the face as soon as we walked in. Front desk moved our room right away but gave us a crappy "corner / end room". There were several ants in the room, the carpet was way outdated and gross and the shower curtain had mold on it. The poolside bar was never open (they said it's only open on Fridays and Saturdays but I NEVER saw it open. The area around the hotel is skeevy and I did not feel safe walking around with the children. Once checking out there were hidden charges on my bill, ($3.00 a day "tourism fee" & a "environmental hotel charge" of about $2.35 a day) when I questioned them they were taken off, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY THEM! Buyer beware! The good things I found: housekeeping staff was sweet & the pool / play area was nice to have right there. But that's about it. I WOULD NOT stay here again or recommend it to anyone unless you're on a tight budget.

Room Tip: Pick a room in the garden area but NOT a corner room.

The hotel is nice, good rooms, good service, nice pool for the kids. Remote from the falls and the noise of Cliffton Road, it remains very easy access with the bus right in front of the hotel.
A good place to stay when you are with young kids

the stink of the pool chlorine is everywhere The rooms are tiny My son turned from tiny counter to go to washroom and banged his elbow - my daughter could barely use the toilet as it was so tight The decor is something of a 1970's flea market with low lighting The walls of the bathroom are plastic It was just awful And the front desk manager/owner was a real arrogant twit who was very uncaring and rude when my son asked where his sister and I went when he checked us in, saw us altogether yet son went to washroom and he just waved his arm in direction of our room saying, "I don't know, somewhere down there I think" A real professional! Never again...

We stayed at the B.W. Cairn Croft Hotel for a long weekend. Got a great package from AAA. We stayed in the tower. The room was nice and quiet. The hotel is on the WEGO line so it is easy to get everywhere without driving! Had a wonderful trip and would stay here again.

Room Tip: The tower is quiet. A little loud by the pool. Pick a tower room when booking.

The hotel is around 1.6 miles/2.6 km from the Horseshoe Falls. Our room was very clean and the hotel was surprisingly quiet inside. The staff was welcoming and helpful. I'd rate the included (see below) breakfast as "average plus." The pool is in a large roofed courtyard. We did not have young children with us but this appeared to be a good hotel for families. The online room rates seem average to good for a Lundy's Lane area hotel. There are, however, a confusing variety of rates including online (a good value but without Best Western rewards points), no-breakfast, AARP, CAA/AAA, and "best available." It looks as if the last rate may be the only one which avoids the daily parking fee. This fee seemed to me indefensible given the location of the hotel and the fact that many other Lundy's Lane hotels don't charge one. On the other hand, the hotel has a shuttle to the falls area which might save you an even larger parking fee. There are two fast food restaurants less than a block from the hotel and a grocery store next door, which might also be helpful for a family on a vacation budget.

Room Tip: Despite traffic on Lundy's Lane outside, the street side of the hotel seemed as quiet as the oth...

This was a one night stay as we had already spent a couple of nights at the Sheraton on the Falls a few days earlier. Since we had had our fill of the Falls, Clifton Hills, Marineland, etc we decided to stay outside of the core area and benefit from a more moderately priced hotel. While this is an average hotel it very much hit expectations. Check-in simple and quick. Rooms: clean, slightly dated, coffee machine and small fridge, slow wi-fi, and somewhat noisy air conditioner. Interestingly, the sink and vanity were outside of the washroom which housed the toilet and bath tub which can be convenient when family members choose to linger under the shower or spend some extended time on the other receptacle finishing off a novel.
Pool area and arcade make this the hang out place of choice in the hotel for the kids. I was told by other guests that the restaurant was fine for basic grub. One peeve was that we were charged $7 for parking (in the middle of nowhere) huh? ... blatant money grab.
Overall good value hotel outside of the main Falls area.

Room Tip: If you have kids, ask for a room around the pool area which allows you to sit outside the room (perh...
