Firstly, this hotel is great if you have a car as it is not anywhere close to the actual Falls. You're looking at about an hour and a half walk. Although you do get to see some really gorgeous houses and you get to walk under the Rainbow Bridge.
Secondly, the hotel staff was incredibly rude. I could not connect to the internet using my laptop and when I asked for an ethernet cable or if they could reset the modem/router I was given a USB router. Not what I needed in the slightest. When I asked if they could reset the network I was told that they don't do that here. If I couldn't connect that was my problem. Our room was also road facing instead of parking lot facing, which is what I had booked for. When I asked for a parking lot facing room I was told that this was the only room they had. I know this to be a lie as I work in the hotel industry. When you book at choicehotels.ca, what the description says is in the room is what you are booking. The only way it would've changed is if they moved your room. Which is what these people did.
As for the hotel itself. I love how my room had its own fireplace and that the breaker panel was located in the room as we blew a breaker. The layout was great, lots of room. The comforter was so comfy I wanted to take it home with me. However our room faced the road and of course there was a light right outside of our window. Now the window treatments that they had elected to use were sheer curtains under thicker curtains that couldn't be pulled shut. Whilst we did hang a blanket over the window it was much more effort than it should've been.
Breakfast was not included with our room, which was fine, but is not worth the price they charge. Their on site restaurant charges $13 per person. Instead we went to the Golden Griddle.
