We wanted a nice dinner place for our date night. Symposium looked great on the web, and the menue was inticing with yummy pictures. We made a reservation. Then came reality: the mêtre d' forgot to assign a waiter to us. After 10 minutes I had to go inside to ask for one... Then I ordered a burger 'medium' , and was told they only do well done meat. 1 minute later the manager comes out and apologizes, and I could have my burger in medium, of course. What was then served is a well done, watery, ex-frozen, tasteless patty of unknown origin. Really bad. Waiter apologizes again and later actually takes it off the bill. We order an Italian wine, out comes the manager apologizing again, they are out of that wine, and offers us a more expensive wine instead - for the same price. We ordered mussels as an apetizer, but they come after they served the main course. And they were bad, old and fishy. Waiter offers us a free desert and apologizes. My wife had a flatbread and it was mushy and had no taste. Waiter comes and - yes, offers us a free drink and apologizes. NO, it was not our strategy to get as many freebees as possible,, actually we would have preferred good food instead. They went overboard with their freebees and apologies, so 4 stars for service, but 0 for food quality, especially given that it is a very inviting place with nice interior and a patio, and would suggest otherwise. Maybe it was just ' one of those days', but I doubt it.
