When out driving along Dundas Street just east of Southdown Road, one will see the Grande that houses this organization. I had the pleasure several years ago to tour this building and talk to some of the staff that work on Mississauga's local history. In my personal opinion, thery are not only knowledgable on local history but appear to be passionate plus care what they are doing. Althought history doesn't appear to be a big ticket item or a sexy topic when it comes to election time, it is important to know where we are going in the future based on our past. History may not be big in being taught at the high school level, it is certainly is something that I like to do when exploring different parts of North America, the west Indias or Europe. Belive it or not, there are several justorical sites in Mississauga, Ontario For example, the Bradley House, the Cawthra-Elliott Estate and the cemetary located at the Anglican Church located on the North-East corner of Cawthra & Dundas Street. In fact, former Mississsauga Councillor David Cook has written several books relating to local history. Recommend you check this place out if your busy schedule will allow it as I see it as an important investment in our local history and hereitage. You won't be disappointed at all!
