“Scenic view and good for bird watching”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

This is the southern most tip of Canada. The park charges a fee for entrance. There is a train that runs every 20 minutes from the visitor center to the tip of the island. We also took the marsh board walk, which was quite nice. A great blue heron was spotted near the marsh. No place to eat inside the park.

“Visit Canada'a southernmost mainland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Great park to visit. Bring a picnic lunch. Walk/bike the trails. Walk/canoe the boardwalk. Many 'Birders' flock to this gem to view the migratory birds & butterflies. Sit on the beach to watch a sunrise OR sunset. Don't forget to walk to the tip to get your picture taken!

“A nice change from Detroit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

We were visiting several museums in Detroit and took some time to drive over to Point Pelee. It was such a refreshing change from being in the city. It's not a large park and it easy to see in about 3 hours. Recommend taking some older shoes to walk through the sand if you are going to walk down to the point. You do have to get off the path to do that.

“Point Pelee is a must see!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

Point Pelee is a very unique place. It has vegetation that is found only in the Carolinas, interesting wild life including many bird species who use it as a migration stop off point, and a spit that reaches far out into Lake Erie.
You can canoe in the marsh or walk the boardwalk through it. The visitor centre is well worth visiting.
Overall there is so much to do that one day is not enough to really enjoy the park, but if that is all the time you have it is still an enriching experience just being in its beautiful natural Carolinian forest.
