Though Vic. Hall as it was once known, was shown to be fair enough for its 49.99 a night stay , I was shocked, dismayed and aghast to return to my alma mater and see the residence, that serves as a bed--accommodation in the summer, was run down, tired, and uninhabitable. While admittedly there is pleasant, cheery, front desk people and clean rooms with beds made daily, the furnishings were tattered and basically looked as though they were picked from a rough lawn sale. The room was tight but it was more the depressing and dreary surroundings, burnt orange and heavily abused furniture that made the stay quite depressing. I won't comment on the lack of air conditioning as the fan provided was a sad excuse for air.. The other residence LEGGITT is newer, air-conditioned and much more pleasant. We were only at Victoria Hall two nights single accommodation and it was memorable but for all the wrong reasons!
