We always takes guests to this museum, considered one of the best small museums in Canada. Admission is by donation and tours can be arranged for groups. The museum is housed in the old Warden's house for the original Kingston Penitentiary. There is a great selection of static displays and confiscated prison items. The museum provides a real glimpse into prison life and events. Often retired guards are on hand and their stories are as intriguing as the exhibits themselves. Ask questions and enjoy the narratives. While the idea of a prison museum may seem inappropriate to some, we have brought younger children here and they have also found it a great visit. The museum can easily be seen in an hour and it will not be an hour lost.
