“Great staff, needs some updating.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, and that means a great deal. The room was clean as well. There is a general air though, that it needs to be updated. The towels are frayed on the edges, and the rug had some stains. But for the price, we got a clean room and friendly staff. Free coffee in the lobby would be a great idea as the room coffee is dreadful!

My pillows were a bit lumpy, but I found the bed comfortable enough. There was no door on the bathroom, but instead had an archway entrance and single bright florescent light bulb which shone right in my face and woke me up when my friend got up during the night. The bathtub and toilet were in a separate stall off the bathroom and the only way to put the light on in there was to use the one switch which turned on the light in the outer bathroom sink area and inside for the toilet and bathtub use. The tile in the bath needs serious bleaching for mold in the grout. The door to the room had to be kicked or pushed very, very hard to open, and pulled on super hard to open from within the room. There is a door to the outside patio with plastic chairs, but apparently the doors are sealed shut, which I was glad about for the safety.

Our room was on the first floor with good access to the room from the parking lot but with unfortunately no privacy at all, unless the drapes were closed, and the lighting in the room was so minimal that it was hard to see. Very, very dark.

The front desk clerk was a woman the night we were there and she was very, very nice and helpful in giving us recommendations for dinner in the town and cabs. August 25th was when she was working.

Room Tip: Consider asking for a room on the second floor in the smaller building behind the pool.

Room Tip: Room on the middle floor in the building that has the pool in front of it.

I was with a woman friend here for 2 nights starting on August 26th. Although my bed was a bit lumpy I found IT comfortable enough. The problem was that there was no door on the bathroom which instead had an arch way entrance and single bright florescent light bulb which shone right in my face and woke me up when my friend got up during the night. The bathtub and toilet were in a separate stall off the bathroom and the only way to put the light on in there was to use the one switch which turned on the light in the outer bathroom sink area and inside for the toilet and bathtub use. For sanitation reasons, you cannot wash your hands after using the toilet unless you choose to leave the door open to the toilet area. I hope they are monitoring closely for E coli
.
To be fair the bath is easy to use with good water pressure. The plumbing is noisy and I could hear that from other rooms plus the television sound from the next room.

Our room was on the first floor with good access to the room from the parking lot but with unfortunately no privacy at all, unless the drapes were closed.

We had a fridge and coffee maker but no microwave in the room.

The location is good if you drive,as you are quite close to attractions There is a Denny's restaurant on site. Across the street is a plaza with a Shopper's Drug Mart, Dollarama and some other stores.

Room Tip: Consider asking for a room on the second floor or one that doesn't face the parking lot. See if...

We do appreciate this feedback and are sorry that it isn’t more positive. Some of the guestrooms at our hotel have the sink and vanity outside of the private bathroom where the shower and toilet are located. This allows for one person to use the sink and mirror while another can have their privacy. We are sorry that this layout was not to your liking and we do have rooms that have the sink enclosed in the washroom. We are glad to hear that you were satisfied with the water pressure, access to the parking lot, and our very convenient location.
