“Excellent Motel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2009

My husand and I visited Kingston the middle of June. We stayed at the Comfort Inn on Highway 401 in Kingston for four days. The staff were considerate, polite and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast in the morning was a nice start to the each and to top it all off, they allowed us to have our dogs with us as we were in Kingston for a Specialty Dog Show. I always make sure the room is as clean when I leave as it was when I arrived. Thank you to staff and management of the Comfort Inn for making our stay a Great one!

We stayed at the hotel for a weekend and found it to be excellent! The room was very clean. and nothing was missing. The service from the hotel staff was also fantastic! They provided us with recommendations that went above and beyond our expectations! We also found the hotel to be central to to our planned activities as well as being close by to several very handy places!
I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Kingston...it was a great experience!

This was a business trip.

The Room - Nothing special. Clean and comfy beds.

Breakfast - Never mind, head across the street to Denny's, MickyD's or Tim's.

The Problem - Booked a stay for five days. Checked in and said I needed to check out in four. "No problem" they said and made the change. Three days in I see a charge on my CC for the full amount. When I go ask the front desk about it they say that "yes, you booked a rate that required a full pre-payment". NEVER had this info up front and they never charged my card until I was in the room. I battled and had my travel agent battle with no luck.

Wow, I can't believe there's any good reviews of this one. Our big problem was the stale cigarette smell of the whole place. Seems like the whole first floor is the smoking section, and even though we were on 2nd, it was airless and if anything the bad stale smell seemed to be covered up by some kind of chemical smell which frankly was reminiscent of urine. Ugh.
And unfortunately very sluggish ventilation. Just couldn't get fresh air into this place.
Also, wallpaper in our room had evidence of peeling/water damage.
Not good. If it hadn't have been so late we'd have gone elsewhere.

Stayed at the comfort inn with a figure skating group - we were there for a competition. This hotel is in the middle of renovating the lobby so you checked in at a room beside the lobby. The bed in our room on the second floor was broken.. my mom hit her leg on a steel pole sticking out.... we called down to ask someone to come and fix it and the response was - I'm the only one here.

We fixed it ourselves... blankets to keep you warm, there are no blankets.. and comforter is very thin. Room next to us had no heat... kept their heater on all night.. which was making the walls shake.... paper thin walls.. (but that's what all comfort inns are like) We are suggesting to the travel organizer for next year to go somewhere else.

Needs alot of updating.... and they charged over $90.00 with taxes...

We stayed at the Inn while in the area attending a wedding. Great location and the staff was wonderful. Newly renovated rooms were fantastic! Breakfast was a nice perk and it was free. Great customer service to those of us who are directionally challenged! I would highly recommend the Comfort Inn on the 401, we will be back!

My husband and I stayed here for one night. The location is great. There however is no elevator or at least none we were told about. It's not that we are lazy but carrying a suitcase after a long drive can be difficult. The price was okay we got a goverment rate so not as pricey as the CAA rate. The room was small and needed an update. It was however clean. There was water in the room but it cost $3.00, go to the vending machines instead. We didn't have the breakfast the next day but we did find it funny that you had a coupon for the meal indicating only the foods that you were allowed. It looked like it was pretty crowded and busy when we did walk by. They had a check-out slip put under the door early am so this worked out well. Overall, you get waht you pay for. If you what a clean bed for one night this is the place.
