“Resonable place to stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2012

During my business trip to Kingston I had to stay an over night at the city.
I picked up the comfort inn because of the location and the price.
The rooms are clean, and all the facilities are in good conditions.
Many restaurants located in a walking distance from the hotel.
Continental breakfast is included the room price.
If you wish to do a late check out you can do it for addition 25 CAD
The staff was friendly and the service level is good.
Bottom line you are getting above and behind for your money

This hotel is your typical Comfort Inn. Nothing exceptional. The bed was comfortable and the room and hotel was clean. The plus for this hotel is that there is a good choice of restaurants within walking distance--the negative is it is not very soundproof--you hear every noise from in the hall. The breakfast was typical hotel breakfast---toast, cereal etc. Overall I would stay here again as it serves the purpose. If you are looking for luxury this is not the place but if you are looking for a decent hotel without going overboard on price--this could serve your needs.

We spent two nights at this Comfort IInn. The staff was efficient. The non-smoking room with two double beds was clean with splasma tv. Bathromm was clean. The breakfast room was clean and spacious compared to other Comfort Inns. The food was as expected for continental breakfast. Would return. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for non-smoking room in rear of building. No noise

The room stank of smoke, there was a 19" old fashioned tv, the air conditioner/heater was loud all night long, we were only given 1 bath towel each and several smaller towels. Both my wife and I submitted survey forms outlining all of this, and we never got a response. We also filled out the on-line surveys and submitted them, all to no avail. It is as though the owners of this establishment don't give a hoot, no apologies, no comments, nothing to indicate that this was an exception and please come back and give us another chance.......I just don't get it. Aside from the abominable room, customer service sucks !!

Was promised a pet-friendly and non-smoking room. Received the former, but not the latter-- room was full of tobacco smoke.
I subsequently learned that Comfort Inn has a policy of putting all pet-accompanied guests in smoking rooms -- so the non-smokers won't be 'exposed to allergic materials', according to chain spokesmen. Har, smokers don't also have allergies, I suppose, because they're so used to filthy air...while non-smokers are a better grade of client.
In fact, no pet will ever be put into a true no-smokers room, so don't be fooled.

First a disclaimer: I work at a hotel and have a higher than usual expectation for a hotel. I know from personal experience how check in should proceed, how the room should be cleaned and how the Front Desk should interact with the guest. The Comfort Inn Highway 401 exceeded all of my expectations! Princess checked us in on Saturday. She was very pleasant and efficient. Our room was ready and exactly as we had reserved. Upon entering the room I did my usual "housekeeping" inspection, check the bed, the appliances and bath for cleanliness. Outstanding job! Kudos to everyone at the Comfort Inn Highway 401. Keep up the good work.

Room Tip: West faceing rooms are away from the highway. First level rooms are good for pet owners. You can exi...

Just got back from an overnight in the Kingston area. Wanted something that wasn't too expensive as we knew we weren't going to be spending much time in the room.

Check in was quick and friendly. We got a non-smoking Queen room on the second floor. Upon entering, it was clear the room was in need of updating, but overall quite clean. I was actually quite surprised by how much the (albeit older) bathroom sparkled. I've actually rarely seen a hotel bathroom that was *that* clean. Good water pressure in the shower, though it does make an annoying sound when you start it. I liked that there was a nightlight in the bathroom so no need to turn on the light in the middle of the night (good when you're 7 months pregnant and have frequent bathroom visits).

The bed at first glance was a disappointment. It looked more like a double than a queen. Upon checking at reception, I was told that the rooms with one bed like ours all have queen beds. The clerk also thought they were a bit on the small side, but certainly bigger than a double. The bed also didn't look all the comfortable, but I ended having a very decent night's sleep, so it obviously wasn't too bad!

I didn't use the fridge, microwave or coffeemaker in the room, so can't comment on those.

Only drawback with the room itself was that the comforter and bedskirt could clearly use a thorough washing as there were a couple of stains on them. No bad smells from pets or smoking as others have claimed.

Was surprised by how much was available at breakfast. Usually at these places you just have borderline stale bread to make toast and coffee. This had coffee, tea, various juices, bagels, bread, English muffins, hard boiled eggs, apples/oranges, pastries and cereal.

Overall, a place I would recommend for a no frills and relatively inexpensive quick stay.
