“Always A Winner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

We have been staying at Green Acres for more than10 years when we visit family in Kingston. We have stayed with our son when he was looking at Queens University, we have stayed with our daughter on visits to the city and we have stayed as a couple for reunion weekends. Every time the service has been amazing and the value outstanding. So clean and comfortable! They have a good variety of accomodations from standard rooms to family suites. Although we have stayed at other hotels and B&B's in Kingston, we keep coming back to Green Acres because of the excellent standard they set. They are continuously upgrading their facility and adding new amenities to enhance your stay. The parklike grounds are very large and there is lots of open space to walk a dog away from noise and traffic. This past week my husband and I stayed one night and had our dog with us. Such a pet friendly establishment and no extra charge for the dog! Another big chain hotel, more conveniently located downtown on the waterfront, charges $100 extra for your pet! It is only a 10 minute to drive to the downtown area from Green Acres Inn and well worth the time. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: While the standard rooms are very well appointed, pay a little extra for the upgrade to a junior sui...

We stayed at this property in October 2012 on a last minute change of plans. We were winterizing our sailboat, and decided it was too cold to stay on board - so booked this property on the way to Kingston in the car, using quick check of TA on the Ipad.

We were not disappointed. We booked the cheapest/smallest room, since we just needed a place to sleep for one night. The room was small-ish, but the value was huge. The property is spotless, check-in staff were very helpful, and the room was very nice. The place looks recently renovated (I dont know when, but it looks pretty new for a 50 yr old propery !).

Linens were great quality, bedding was comfortable, and the room was very well appointed with a small fridge, microwave, and good quality bathroom ameneties. Modern bathroom fixtures, flowers in the bathroom, etc.Pretty much what we would expect at a boutique inn - except that the Green Acres is a motel from the outside !

They also had wi-fi, a pool (we didnt use - too cold out !), and offer a continental breakfast at a very reasonable price (we didnt try it since we went out for a large hot breakfast before heading to the boatyard to work all day !).

If I was staying longer, I would take a larger room, but that is my personal preference.

The location is a bit away from the main drag in Kingston - this means you need to drive to hit the nite life, but also means that the property is located in a much quieter spot than downtown.

Two thumbs up on this one.

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding night. The room was so lovely. It was clean and fresh, up-to-date and really romantic. We plan on staying here again for our anniversery and I recommend it to everyone.

I booked this hotel because of the high rating on Tripadvisor. I recall something about 'family-run' Inn and destination for romantics. It cost me $130/night through Booking.com. When I got to the location, I was dismayed that it was a motel. Picture old worn furniture, sketchy carpets, old geezer at the reception desk. I was dismayed that I had paid that much for a motel. This is NOT what Green Acres was like though. We had the option of 2 rooms, the first being kind of cramped but pleasant. The 2nd room, farther from the street had 2 double beds (Queen, but not really) and was so stylish and clean. We loved the big screen tv and all of the channels we don't get at home. My husband loved that it had a DVD player which we ended up not using. And the toiletries! - Crabtree and Evelyn!
The staff I dealt with on this trip - Daniel and Sarah were such darlings. The kind of young people you would want your own kids to date.
We really enjoyed the room, (the energy efficient toilet), laminate flooring, mini-kitchen. The bed was so-so comfortable.
Big bonus: you can bring your pet!!! And they don't charge extra!!! Mind you, the 3 rooms they have designated as pet friendly are at the way back of the motel in the un-renovated suites. We didn't see them, but it's kinda nice to know that they're there if we ever want to visit again with our dog.
The hotel is not near the 'touristy' area of Kingston, but is virtually next door to Costco, Walmart, Canadian Tire, Cora's (!), McDonalds, you get the idea. Downtown is a 10 - 15 minute drive through a lot of areas of big-city-type shopping stores.
No restaurant, and we could hear people in the next room talking.

Room Tip: Choose a room farthest from the street. #36 was really nice.

Thank you Trip Adviser, read reviews and stayed here over Chili Fest weekend Sept. 2012. Very nice, clean, and friendly staff. Usually stay in "brand name" hotels, took a chance on privately owned, and it was very worth it! Will definitely stay here again when in Kingston. Little touches make such a difference, owners take pride in their businness.

Our Tulip Suite is the best. It is huge with 3 tv's, 2 fireplaces, a Jaccuzi, a king bed, a partial kitchen, and is very clean and quiet. Including a seperate living room. parking is free and out side your door. They have a outdoor pool, and swings for kids.

Room Tip: Ask for the different types of rooms available.

Wow, what a hidden gem! I found this place through TripAdvisor and am SO glad I did. Wonderful grounds, room, and staff. My only regret was not booking an extra night. A few miles drive from downtown Kingston, but worth it for the peace, quiet, and cleanliness. A small "motel" style inn, with at-door parking. But nice extras like comfortable benches to sit on outside rooms, nice grounds with outdoor pool, gazebo. They'll bring a continental breakfast right to your room in the morning if you ask the night before! My room had a jacuzzi tub, fridge, microwave, coffee maker (and some pretty good coffee) with real creamers in the fridge. I got a very restful sleep in the comfortable bed. Bravo!
