We spent this past weekend at the Fireside Inn for our anniversary and we had a lovely stay. The hotels isn't the the most modern or trendiest place, but it has a real warmth and charm and the staff was really nice. I would call the decor "country comfy", because it was really comfortable and relaxed and I loved the fact that there was a fireplace in the room (I think there's one in every room). Our room, on the second floor, was very quiet (well insulated walls I guess), but the toilet did run a bit loud at times throughout the night, and the bathroom door didn't fit right - it would kind of jam. But the bathroom itself looked really new, with lovely tile on the floor and walls, and my husband loved the dual shower heads. The breakfast in the Bistro restaurant, which was included with our stay, was very good with a wide array of items available, fresh fruit, many different juices, and it went until 11:00am (thank goodness because we wanted to sleep in late and take our time). Overall the price was really great, and with breakfast included - we couldn't find a better deal in Kingston! Thank you for a great stay.

Stayed here with my husband and two of his siblings as a family reunion. Great location on Princess Street with free parking. Mall nearby for shopping. We entered our room to see a king size four poster bed with a canopy which was such a hoot. Lovely room, with electric fireplace gives great mood. Extremely clean. All amedities were there including an electric shoe polisher refrigerator and coffee machine (free). Included buffet breakfast, hot waffles, scrambled egg, sausage, home fries, fresh cut fruit, cold cereals, bread, muffins, juices and hot beverages. Ask for the room with the hot air balloon, the bed is in the basket of the balloon..... or the car...... very unique rustic looking hotel. They could use an elevator.... we are seniors and carrying our luggage up the stairs is a challenge.

The room was great, the staff were friendly and the location was fine.
You have to eat at the restaurant there. We had our dinner there and the food and the service were excellent.
We will definitely be staying there again if we're in the Kingston area.

Really lovely hotel, really well cared for, nicely furnished and decorated. We had a four poster bed and fireplace in our room. My only complain about the room was that I could not view the tv from the bed as one of the bed posts was in the way, but we could have sat by the fire and watched from the sofa. Very friendly staff.
The room was excellent value for money but the restaurant was a little expensive, however it was lovely and the food was beautifully presented.
I would definitely stay here again.
