Excellent!

Excellent staff, the rooms were exceptionally clean. We (family of 6) were very happy and would absolutely recommend and stay at the staybridge suites again.

I feel obligated to go out of my way and write a review about one of the great experiences I had while visiting Hamilton. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights while I was attending a conference at the nearby Copps Coliseum.

As soon as I walked through the doors, I felt the warmth of home. The lobby was immaculate, and we were greeted with friendly smiles right away. We felt appreciated and welcomed, and received exceptional service. Even the housekeeping staff would greet us with a nice smile and hello as we walked through the hallways.

After arriving to our room, the first thing my wife and I said (in sync) was "niiiiice". Everything was spotless and spacious, with a full kitchen, speedy internet access, super comfortable king size bed, and a great selection of channels.

The complimentary buffet breakfast was nothing short of amazing, and the small pool/hot tub area proved to be very relaxing. Even as we walked through the lobby, we overheard a family thanking the staff for their stay. What a great impression.

The hotel is newly built, and everything was included in the price! This hotel can't be beat.

The Staybridge Suites in Hamilton is centrally located downtown, near all major government offices and the local indoor sports arena. It's clean and new ... and the front desk people got me in and out with a minimum of fuss.
A few small things that get to me ... there isn't enough light in the business part of the bathroom [toilet and bath] You know, they make high-powered fluorescent lamps these days that don't suck up a lot of hydro.
And speaking of water, the pressure was extremely low from the shower head [once I could find it in the darkness].
Also, as far as the room TV goes ... all hotels should junk the standard high cabinet with a tv inside and drawers below .... for a wide, flat-screen HDTV. Opens up the room considerably, and there's less danger of the TV falling out of the cabinet.
Otherwise this property has a lot going for it, including free internet access.

My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel for a wedding nearby and our experience was mixed. The room was clean and had all the amenities (fridge, stove, microwave, utensils, etc) for our purposes this was not useful but it's a definite bonus for people on an extended stay.

The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were rather flat - there were 4 of them though, so I stacked my 2.

There was a lot of noise from the hallway and I think that for the price they charge, they could have soundproofed a little better. There was a gap under the door for one that should have been filled.

My major complaint was the shower. Our drain did not stay open so the tub would fill up with water while showering and I found it rather gross standing in ankle deep water. I did however figure out a solution myself by propping the drain open with a soap dish, I informed the hotel of this issue so hopefully they will fix it. Not a big deal once I opened the drain but I don't even like touching the drain in my own house as it grosses me out, let alone a hotel.

I also thought that the light in the bathroom was broken at first because it takes about 5 to 10 seconds to come on. I was using the bathroom with the door open and the powder room light on all night until I realized in the morning what my mistake was.

Speaking of lights, my girlfriend was really bothered by the poor lighting in the room. It dosen't bother me as I am rather like a vampire when it comes to lighting but she compained a great deal about the poor lighting (and I will admit it was rather dark).

Lobby was very nice and the breakfast bar looked very good (although by the time I woke up and showered at 10:30 there was only a few things left).
