Chuck's is small but so am I and my mamma always said "good things come in small packages"! They have 8 seats at the bar and 12 seats at 4 tables and the window. My advice if you are a group larger than 4 is to take away the fabulous food to enjoy at home. During the dinner hours you will find the queue out the door (especially Thurs Fri Sat) simply because the food is well worth the wait. This licensed restaurant offers many varieties of imported and craft brews but no liquor. In Hamilton you can bring your own wine to any restaurant but will pay a corkage fee. The food is excellent and the cooks do a great job of getting food quickly out of the tiniest open kitchen you have ever seen. Chuck's minces the beef fresh so burgers will come pink in the middle but you can ask your server for well done. There are so many toppings to choose from including artisan cheeses, and patties can be had from Angus beef, bacon, chicken, turkey, lamb, venison, bison or veggie. For me, as a celiac, I can have any burger except the veggie and they have great gluten free buns. They have a dedicated fryer for chips and I can also enjoy the Mama Chuck's Chili and Cheese poutine, yummy. If you find the number of topping choices overwhelming don't hesitate to try one of Chuck's Favourites. My faves include the Smoky Blue Haze with Applewood Smoked Bacon and the Mama Chuck's Chili Cheese burgers. The salads are fresh, generous portions, and excellent. I love the Baby Spinach Greek Salad. It's loaded with red onion, feta cheese and kalamata olives mmmmm...For smaller appetites Chuck's Sliders are a good choice. The premium burgers are HUGE! I can't say enough about the awesome staff! They are warm, friendly, and helpful. Ruth, Mal, Kate and the rest of the staff make up an amazing team of awesomeness! Check out their other establishment in Hamilton, The Harbour Diner, as seen on network tv's "Ya Gotta Eat Here!" Thanks Chuck's for opening up on our quaint little Locke Street, an eclectic mix of shops and eating establishments worth checking out!
