“Wonderful place and hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

The Casilda House is a charming historic property operating as a B&B. The seaside location is perfect for easy trips to Hobart in one direction and down the scenic Tasman Peninsula in the other. The hosts, Tony and Kathy Webster, are most welcoming, and Kathy prepares a fantastic breakfast feast. Port and sherry in the living room every evening were welcome after each day of exploring. We were very happy to have made this choice and will stay there again the next time we holiday in Tasmania. P.S. The Casilda House survived the recent fires in the area.

“Best B&B of our Tassie Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

Casila House B&B was so far above the other B&B's we stayed at during our Tassie holiday. The 7 years which the owners have spent renovating have really paid off and we would really recommend that you also stay here. The only disappontment was that the places we stayed in after our night here seemed poorly in comparison!

“The Best in Tasmania”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

This was the best B&B we experienced in Tasmania. The owners were more than accomodating and allowed us to use their kitchen to prepare dinner. A welcome relief from the not so exciting restaurants in the area. The location is ideal for exploring the Port Arthur area and has a beautiful bayfront location. Hot breakfast too! Character and charm!

“A perfect gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

This is a long overdue review. We stayed at Casilda House going from Hobart to Port Arthur with the idea of stopping somewhere in the middle which would give us easy access to various sites. What a wonderful find. So close to where Abel Tasman first landed -- a surprise find -- and in a delightful spot. What was awesome, was the friendliness of our hosts and their over-and-above helpfulness with everything. Wish we stayed longer -- and would we go back when in Tasmania-definitely.

Our room was lovely, breakfast superb and the tips and stories so interesting. I hope that this little gem of a B&B in a little gem of a location continues to retain its charm.

“Everything a traveller wants”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

This was our first Tassie B&B experience and definitely the best. It's an ideal set-up, with the owners close by, and Casilda House left to the guests. Tony spent two years restoring a condemned building and the result is fantastic. Lots of nice touches like afternoon tea on arrival, a log fire, free port, tasteful decorations and use of bikes and fishing gear etc.

Dunalley doesn't have many eating places, so being able to cook your own dinner at the B&B is a big plus. We stayed two nights, we cooked one and ate out at the local pub (adequate) the other. There's another eating option on Fri and Sat nights, The Dunalley Waterfront Cafe, so you might want to time your visit if you don't want to cook.

There's a delicious cooked breakfast included in the tariff with homemade bread and jams to set you up for the day.

Tony and Kathy know the area well and offered good advice. Port Arthur is about 30mins away but there's plenty of places to explore on the way there and back. (Try the pies from the caravan at the blowhole south of Eaglehawk Neck during the warmer months).

This is a great place to stay - spacious, friendly and homely, all looking out over the water.
