“Great walking or running or photography trail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

The trail runs along the waterfront in Burlington and I have walked and run along it many times. It is also a great place for photos with the wooded sections or beach areas. There is a nice little area right near the bottom of Brant street that is secluded and has a little "lagoon" where you can often find ducks swimming. Of course, numerous miles of beach are also great spots for photos. Naturally, in the summer families visit and spend time on the beach with BBQs nearby. The trails run for miles along the waterfront so it is a good place for a run of 5 or 10km although at one point you will have to cross the bridge. You can rent a small boat or board for paddle surfing and even a small cabana for really hot days to get out of the sun

“Back to Basics Naturally”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

The trail is easily accessible from just about anywhere; one of our favourites is parking at LaSalle Park, to enjoy the view and then take a walk along the trail. The pace can be as leisurely as you may want (or not), and sites around (and in the Bay) are awesome.
Plants, trees, the water and the various ducks, geese, gulls and swans are all there for you to watch and enjoy.
There has been a significant amount of work done recently to ensure that the trail is easy to follow and safe for everyone. It is certainly well worth spending an hour (or more), and no $$'s to get back to Nature.

“Love the Burlington Trail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

It is true, watch out for cyclists, rollerbladders, and people having fun. What a glorious way to spend a Saturday or Sunday morning. I love go for my walk and finish with a coffee by the lake..you can sneak a peak into beautiful backyards, and hear waterfountains running. I love the walk in the winter just as much. It is not shoveled, which makes it so natural. No cyclists or rollerbladders, as a matter of fact it is very quiet and peaceful.
Try it!

“Treasure of a trail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

My family will agree: this is simply the best thing to do in Burlington or Hamilton. The trail is long (23 km) and it can take three hours to travel from one end to the other. We usually walk along the stretch in the middle of the city, through neighbourhoods. It's easy to get in touch with nature here, regardless of the season. We also use the trail to bike to our favourite gelato shop downtown. Sometimes we'll drive to the beach strip and trek that portion of the trail. This is the best: the water, the sand, the trees, the light breeze. We love stopping at Hutch's for French fries, and climbing up the tower to get a bird's eye view. The only problem is the cyclists and rollerbladers, who often insist on maintaining their speed despite the fact that the area is packed with families whenever the weather is nice. Still, the beauty of the shoreline can't be denied.

“Best part about Burlington”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

You can walk/jog/rollerblade/bike the walkway along the lakefront all the way from the foot of Elizabeth Street and Lakeshore, Downtown Burlington, to the edge of Hamilton. (For runners, it's the most pleasant 5 km stretch in Burlington - you may just have to weave around strolling families).
During Christmastime, the park is decorated with lights, and there are plenty of festivals taking place during the summer - such as Canada's largest Ribfest!
There are plenty of places to stop along Lakeshore - for lattes, ice cream, gelato. There's also an Arts Centre (small gallery and gift shop).
