Our family recently spent 2 nights on a weekend at this hotel. The purpose of our visit was for a sports tournament.
The hotel was easy to find and close to major highways. The parking was free and check in was friendly and efficient. Our room was quite small but clean. We had booked the room with 2 queen beds for 2 adults and 3 children. We added a cot but could just barely squeeze it into the room. The beds and the cot were comfortable. The other option was a king size bed and a small pull out sofa in the same small sized room. The mini fridge was missing from our room and would have been nice to have. The ice machine was broken on our floor. The shower had good water pressure but the hot water was fleeting no matter what time of day you showered.
There was a beautiful view of the lake right behind the hotel and the bridge in the distance. A nice walkway was along the lake at the rear of the hotel and a nice children's park a short walk away. The hotel is in the old downtown area with plenty of small shops, restaurants, a gas station, coffee shop, variety store, grocery store, etc. nearby. The Beer Store and LCBO are across the street, half a block away. The street also has many new high rise condominiums overlooking the lake.
The hotel has an indoor pool and hot tub. We rented a hospitality room (in the lower level) for the team and families to gather in. The room was small with just room for a conference table and chairs around it. It had a large flat screen TV that was good to watch sports on while we sat around and chatted. The room was fairly inexpensive and definitely a good idea for everyone to have a place to gather and not disturb other guests. We ordered pizzas one evening for the team from the 2-for-1 pizza place around the corner from the hotel, as suggested by the front desk staff. The pizza was delivered quickly, was hot, tasted good, and all for an excellent price. There was a small, cold continental breakfast in the morning available until 9:30 a.m. Not sure why they close so early when check out isn't until 12 pm.
Overall, our stay was good, but not great. It met our needs. We would possibly stay here again, but would compare other hotels in the price range ($125/night Cdn.)
