“Awesome time with the kids!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

Kids have an amazing time here! The splash pad is great. The small zoo is always nice. It is a shame that the city charges for a lot of the stuff, but nothing is free I guess.

“Great for kids!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

There are two play areas - one slightly outside the park on the west side (I find the equipment better suited to kids 6+) and one centrally located by the splash pad and snack bar. The central one has two play areas and swings - good for babies/toddlers and then for kids 4+ to play on. There are bathrooms beside the snack bar and also in the ski chalet.

$3 pp gets you a ride on the train that does a small loop around the park. They don't normally charge for babies that sit on your lap. TIP: tickets are purchased from the conductor, so head straight to the line instead of the snack bar to purchase tickets.

Snack bar service is slow. Once open though you can purchase pony ride tickets, etc in advance so that you can start lining up before those attractions open.

Lots of picnic tables and areas to lay out a blanket. There is a green house, pond, lots of areas to explore and walk around. It's a great place to hang out for FREE on those hot summer days. Bring money if you can't say no to the kids - train ride always seems to be a hit and a fast way to spend dollars.

Good variety of animals in the petting zoo and to look at. If you are a resident of Brampton and have a 3-5 year old, check the Park & Rec book for the Mini Moo program. 4 classes teaches kids about different animals in the petting zoo and they get an up close and personal lesson on the animal. My 5 year old loved it!

“Great for young and old-er!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

We've been going there since the sixties. It has a lot for you to do or just relax by the pond. There is a little zoo, tennis, a greenhouse, teahouse and water play area and more. You can easily spend the day there and if you get bored, there's Bramalea Shopping Center practically across the street. In winter you can even ski down the hill. We have taken a lot of friends and their children there over the years.

“Something for everyone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

This park offers easily a dozen different activities for people of all ages. If you want to run or jog, there's a composition track that's easy on the knees. If you want to walk, there's a several km walking trail encompassing the park. For youngsters, there is an animal farm with pens outdoors for viewing various breeds. Additionally, there are gymnastic apparatus, climbing walls and a water theme playground. They have a mini golf course, a ski hill of very modest height, tennis courts and a curling club. Should you want to feed ducks or have a picnic, no problem. There are lots of spaces and tables. There is even a little "train" for kids to get a ride around a portion of the park.

“So much fun and the price is right”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Chinguacousy Park, better known as Ching Park, has been a relaxing destination for Brampton residents since I was a little girl in the 1970s. It is improved every year. Summer is best with the barn and petty zoo of farm animals: a favourite for the kids at a nominal cost that helps with the care and feed for the animals. The paddle boats ($) in the pond are fun. There is a great mini-golf course ($) and splash park. The swings, monkey bars and kids parks are unique, large and keep the little ones busy. This year, the city fireworks returned to Ching on July 1 and were great. Bike paths are great and the park is also good for walking dogs. In the winter, the ski hill is a fantastic way to introduce new skiers / snowboarders to the sport. Both my kids learned there. I remember as a teen heading to the "Nitty Gritty Brama Ching Wing Ding", an annual week long carnival held at the park. I think the name changed, but it still takes place. Ching park is something Brampton should be truly proud of.
