Ladies, you are doing it right!

Wine selection is awesome, daily features are always creative, and the fact that the menu changes with the seasons is really refreshing for Barrie---I think it shows that there is care put into the restaurant, and that the chef is versatile and educated.

Dining out is a hobby of mine, I've also worked in the service industry for a decade---I'm not a whiny or rude customer, but I am not easily impressed. Well done, Groovy's!

“Surprised”

The menu is small. The beer selection is minimal. The dining room is small and noisy. The decor is quaint.

The apps were great. I had the beef ribs poutine with sweet potato fries and brie cheese. She had risotto balls stuffed witch cheese and beef. Fantastic.

For a main I had pork roulade and she had short ribs. Both were great.

The food was fantastic and the service was even better. I didn't like the decor but the food was great.

“Marvelous Neighborhood Gem!”

This quaint personal (and local) favorite delivers consistently delicious meals and upscale service in a quaint, comfortable and tremendously decorated Bistro-style dining room.

The food is Stellar. Full stop. Mel's selection of plates is constantly changing with the seasons to spotlight local ingredients. Chefs Sarah and Em serve up all your favorite comfort foods with a "groovy twist". They are constantly adding a new flare to all your favorite lunch dishes; think burgers, omelettes, donuts, tacos, cobb salad - even their poutine is fancy! Their dinner menu is equally as impressive - this is one of those places where you want to order EVERYTHING and you can't decide because it all sounds so good! Their desserts are always changing and always amazing. the smore's cheesecake is among my personal faves.

The wine list is actually just a wall of wine, which allows you to 'window shop' your wine before selecting.

I cannot stress enough how much I love the decor! The dining room is laid back enough for a casual family dins (the exposed brick wall, the massive specials chalkboard), yet polished enough for a business lunch or dinner (fresh flowers ALWAYS, linen napkins, candles). This is the only instance in my life when I have ever found a mirror on the ceiling to be tasteful! Guests can watch as the Groovy kitchen staff plate their meals in a picasso-like manner. LOVE IT.

The washrooms are so clean you could eat off the floor. It's also a nice touch having real hand-towels and fancy soaps that change with the seasons.

The staff are the heart of Groovy Tuesdays and you genuinely feel that they want you to enjoy your meal and your time there. You are welcomed into Groovy's as if being welcomed into a friends home. Everyone is very attentive, friendly and attitude-free. If you want to modify your meal, they are eager to accommodate any special requests or dietary requirements. I appreciate this because I have probably never ordered a meal 'as is' in my life. If you are vegetarian or GF, there are lots of options on the menu or, the staff will work to make something special that suits you.

PS> I like that the music is played at an appropriate volume and that the tap water is always infused with something fun.

There is nothing you won't like about Groovy Tuesdays !! see u there
