Description: We are a quaint, soulful, independently owned cafe in the heart of downtown Barrie with a focus on fresh and conscious eating. Open seven days a week we offer a breakfast and lunch menu that strongly emphasizes vegetarian and gluten free options along with locally raised, free range chicken. Everything is made in house including our sandwich bread which is a whole wheat focaccia & our soups which are always made gluten free. The Lazy Tulip vibe is worldly, spiritual & funky. Music is a big part of the atmosphere which ranges from Indian tablas to local musical talent to current faves. We serve Planet Bean coffee, a small micro-roaster from Guelph and it's full flavored, fair trade and certified organic.

“THE BEST CAPPPUCCINO EVER”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Lazy Tulip is this quirky little cafe with the best Cappuccino ever. As my daughter in law (from England)mentioned the tuna melt is good and also the Tuna Pannini. The veggie scones which Stacey makes are to die for.Well worth a visit. Michelle and all the staff as so friendly a really nice place to visit in downtown Barrie.

“Lovely Food and Staff, BEST tuna melt ever!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

I visited the Lazy Tulip during my visit to Canada with my Husband Nan in Law and Granddad in Law (who are regulars) :) What can I say.. this is a lovely place to have a quick bite to eat. All the food is healthy and they use fresh food. I have to highly recommend the tuna melt!!! which I had every time I went there as it was AMAZING!! Coming from the UK I like a nice cup of tea and the Lazy Tulips tea was just as good as home. So if your looking for a quaint little cafe with fresh ingredients and lovely staff then you must try the Lazy Tulip!

“A soulful soup and sandwich joint :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

We stumbled upon this place on our drive back from Eagle Lake to Toronto. What a delightful find!! The cafe is small and intimate with a funky, Eco-friendly atmosphere. Food is delicious and made one order at a time, fresh ingredients, yummy soup varieties - hot and cold. Coffee was indeed "the best ever" as was the gluten and dairy free oatmeal chocolate cookie. We loved this place and will be back next time we drive through Barrie. Also, it is open on Monday :)
