Visited our favourite restaurant in Barrie, Urban Dish on Thursday date night. Saw some new faces and believe it is under new management which worried us a little. Menu was a fixed price menu for $35 each which offered steak, salmon, pasta and chicken (temporary Barrielicous menu). A little disappointed that the sea bass wasn't available. The amuse bouche was a Black Cherry Gazpacho, which was a very interesting combination and very refreshing. For appetizers, we had the Beef Carpaccio and Sweet Frites. Both were excellent! We both ordered the steak for our entrees, and they were fantastic! Cooked perfectly, melt in your mouth, full of flavor throughout. The accompaniments (asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes) were also cooked perfectly and delicious. Desserts were perfectly sized, Pear Crumble and Orange Crème Brulee, both excellent. Service was also excellent. Pleasantly surprised to find live entertainment in the form of a lovely woman singing familiar songs. We will definitely be back!
