“Mediocre at best”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

I had lunch at the Argyle today and was severely disappointed in the food I had. The menu has a lot of options (all very pub style), and I settled on a chicken club sandwich with fries. The chicken was cold, and it was hardly good pub quality (something I could have easily prepared at home). I went with fries for a side, and they were shoestring, frozen french fries flash fried in grease (also cold). They did provide a lot of fries, although I left the vast majority of them on my plate because they weren't very good. I only ate 1/2 of half of the sandwich because it was cold and rather tasteless. I won't go back to this restaurant again.

“Food, atmosphere and location - everything was good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

The Argyle Grill served good food, plenty of it with great service and sitting outdoors on a sunny day made it a perfect spot for lunch. The menu was pretty average but solid. It was really busy but everyone around us seemed to enjoy their lunch as much as we did.

“Love the Argyle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

My partner and I go there all the time. The service is terrific. Food is fine, good value, and we really like the fact that there are vegetarian options -- we ususally start by sharing the mediterranean platter.

“An average Pub, as far as Halifax goes”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

I attended with a large group from work the other day for lunch. This enabled me to see and sample the vast majority of the menu and gather opinions. I had the Asian Chicken Salad, which was really not that great (portion was a little small, the grilled chicken was dried out, and not a variety of greens... they simply took the mixed greens mix from costco put some mandarin oranges, diced onion, dressing and a chicken breast atop and charge you $14... they need to do more). The burgers were huge and tasty. The pizza was thincrust and decent. Service was above average. The issues: shabby looking exterior/frontage, lack of free parking, slighlty overpriced for what you are getting and fairly stale ambience. Overall, this place is okay if you are on foot in the area and your goal is to grab a burger and a beer. At night it might have more appeal if the goal is to tip them back. Cheers!

“Good family experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013 via mobile

First time to and first day in Halifax. Family was happy and walked in. Immediately greeted with a smile.
My family had a very good lunch. The wood burning pizza was fantastic, enjoyed the Louisiana chicken and burger as well.
