“A symbol that defines Halifax”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

The old clock is the symbol that is often used as an identifier for the city of Halifax. The structure is not a spectacular piece of architecture up close. It is actually prettier looking up at it from the boardwalk by the waterfront. The contrast of the old town clock framed against other buildings downtown makes it look quainter and makes for much better pictures.

“Really Part of the Citadel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014

Old clock full of history again won't mean much to the average traveller until they understand the story behind the clock. The clock really is part of a tour by Greylines or when you visit the citadel. Worth a stop and great pictures of the clock but only if you understand the story!!

“Historic Halifax icon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Beautiful building housing the historic clock overlooking the city on Citadel Hill. Dating from 1803 and the Edwardian era, the views from atop the hill of the city and harbor are worth the climb (or drive). A Halifax must-see!!

“A beautiful building”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

This is a beautiful old building. Stop here on your way up the hill to the Citadel.
Sit on the grass and enjoy the great view of Halifax, Dartmouth and the bay.

“pretty but boring”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

It's a very nice clock but it's really just a clock. There's a great view though and you can sit in the grass and chill.
