“Awesome!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

I never knew about this place until we had our work party there. Wow! What an amazing, cozy and warm atmosphere. It was about 7pm on a Friday evening so it was busy but still people were waiting to get in. They didn't wait long as the staff appeared to have everything running very smooth. All staff and the owner have excellent customer service skills and not just with us, but at every table it was obvious. We had many appetizers and all were fabulous! My favorite was the saganaki cheese! Delicious! Also the spinach and feta phylo(sp) and the red pepper dip was great. I don't like calamari but our group raved about it! For dinner I had the chicken souvlaki which came with greek salad, potato's and rice. Everything was cooked perfectly. There is also a nice wine selection.

“A little Greek experience in Halifax”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Reasonably sized, and personable hostess. Cristo served us and did an excellent job at it. We tried the prawns for beginnings with scallops for middles. Topped it off with the rice pudding for a wonderful meal ending. Indeed a good experience.

“What a sham? Terrible! Unbelievable!!! To think we waited 1 hour for this !!!!!!!!!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

This was probably the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. The food we were served after an hour wait (from when the order was taken, in a near empty restaurant) had no resemblance to any greek food we had ever eaten. White rice? no flavor? white potatoes? cold styrofoam like bechemal on a tasteless giant square of potatoes, meat sauce, and 2 slices of eggplant that was called mousaka? Briam was a tomato sauce (just like the soup with lentils) with a few green beans added. When asked how everything was, and we questioned if this was the usual quality ( or lack of) for the food, the waiter stated that "somebody must not have done something right". No kidding!! Why were we not informed if there was a problem in the kitchen? We were hungry and tired, and wanted sustenance, not this kind of lack of consideration for patron. Felt like we some part of a scheme to keep us seated in the front window to attract customers, yet we were being played for some mysterious reason. Even though the cost of the meals were taken off the bill, (they were basically left uneaten anyway), We were still charged for the 1 beer and iced tea and lentil soup that were consumed over the 1.5 hour wait. We will never go back to this place and do not recommend it as the greek food restaurant that seems to have managed some pretty good reviews.

“Great greek option”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

I liked it when it was called It's All Greek to Me and I still like it when its called The Blue Olive. I go there generally for lunch with friends from work. It consistently has good food with a varied enough menu. Service is very good as well. I have an allergy that they easily accommodated. I would recommend it if you are a lover of greek food, like I am. There are several greek/mediterranean options on Quinpool Road. This is one of the better ones.

This is a wonderful family owned Greek restaurant. The food is great and the owner a wonderful host. Not to be missed if you are in the area!
