We went to the Carleton to see Sarah Slean perform - if you ever get the chance to see her, grab it - she is a phenomenal artist. Four of us ate and all four of us had the same impression - the food was just average.
I had the smoked meat on dark rye. I was expecting to have a sandwich with finely shaved smoked meat - instead it was a few thick slices of very fatty pork. I had to take the meat out and trim the fat off before I could eat it. The bread was stale. The fries were great.
My wife had the chicken club on pita bread - she found the sandwich ok, but the salad tasteless.
Another selection was the seafood linguine - we were told it was overspiced, so you could taste nothing but the spices.
The last menu choice was the onion soup, which was reviewed as being "passable".
The atmosphere is nice, the entertainment is as a general rule is great, but don't go for the food.
Cost for two of us with tip was $40
